Many years ago, Ken made a customer move factory fuel lines on a bmw as they were too close to factory exhaust. Never been back to him since then.

pistons 2 and 3 are pretty cracked. didnt get a chance to pull #4. but im expecting it to be alright like #1 is, due to the similar compression readings. the bores still look perfect so no issues there thankfully.the crack in the block goes down roughly 8mm and although im uneasy with the call, the engine shop rekons it would be alright and they see it often. i think dad is going to take some detailed pictures or maybe the whole block in to them to look at.i believe the current plan is to chuck replacement parts at it and get it back on the track running the same gear as it has for years previously. possibly get a checkup on the tune.
I would not use that block

Haven't touched this truck in a while, but have bought a V8 4.8 LS based engine from a Silverado 1500 truck, got excited over the weekend and cut down the loom for the standalone setup, then started making a new fuse box for the truck to upgrade the wiring system. As old wires are no fun to fix. Hopefully will get engine running on a stand before installing.

Hi,
Just got back from the States. Picked up a C10 Fleetside truck, Custom cab, big window, factory v8 engine, manual. Found it at Pomona swap meet, was one of the more realistic priced car/trucks there. Bought it off some nice Spanish low riders. Pilled heaps of stuff on the back and drove it 100 miles to the next hotel. Got hold of Lucky's towing and had it sent to the shippers to be packed with some other crap and sent back to NZ.
Also while there visited a lot of rod shops and car places. Picked up a airbag kit for it, drop spindles and stud conversion. which I'll be installing when it arrives in NZ. Now its just a waiting game.
