Yea I've done a small amount of towing around the city with a massive caravan on a 5th wheel, would be close to the size you mention. Pretty straight forward really, easy as to reverse and manage, just be careful on street choice etc. As above more concern is the weight and engineering issues than the actual towing.
I have always thought the bigger a trailer is the easier they are to reverse.
I can back a massive car trailer sweet but try and do the same on a shitty little garden trailer and I cock it up

I have towed a bunch of gliding trailers over the years, would be about that length I would think
They aren't too bad too tow at all, super easy to reverse with
Have to swing quite wide for tight corners and can be a bit sketchy if they start to get a sway on
Glider trailers are pretty light though so would be a bit different with a bunch of weight on it

Plus mistakes are usually a lot more forgiving in older cars with out driver aids As usually your more aware of when it's gonna step out or whatever.
I very much doubt this part of your statement, when you make a mistake in a modern car with ABS, traction control etc the average driver will be able to get a modern car back under control and stop more quickly than in a car without any of those aids.

Pretty sure the list says you have to have a 205 minimum for a cert on a 7.5. Unless your tyres say they are legit. If so keen to know what type of tyres you are running

I think it may help if a bunch of people like your posts on both pages so they show up as the top comments?
Also i'm having to restrain myself from sending a very abusive email to mr Alistair Davidson about how much of a fuckwit he is

Gay, both my cars ('97 Corolla and '98 Galant) fall into the shitter bands for their models, if they were one year newer they would be in the "safer" band which is BS. There would be no safety improvements for either the year later (both have dual airbags, ABS etc)
#newercarproblems
I like how my 1985 volvo has the same band as your modern cars. No ABS or airbags here

All Renault Clios up to 2012 are category 1 even though they've been 5 star NCAP thing since like 2001.
My 1985 volvo 240 is category 2

These things just roll front wheel drive
They use bags to raise the rear axle off the ground when not towing anything
