142s aren't considerably smaller than 242s. The body shell is almost identical, sameish width and height and only about 6 inches shorter and most of that is between the grill and front wheels

Main difference between them is that 140 has double wishbone up front compared to macpherson for 240s

Also, are you super set on 2 door? Because they are super rare in NZ. There were only 12 242 sold NZ new as far as I know and they were all GTs from what I have been told. And the price difference is from $800-2000 for a 4 door and upwards of $7 to 8000 for a 242.

And 142 seem to be even less common, I have never seen a RHD one on trademe, they always seem to be LHD american imports and I have only seen 2 or 3 in the last 6 years or so and they get snapped up quick. Have also seen a couple that were full race spec already with cages etc and sold for over $10,000

If you really want a 2 door you pretty much can't be picky and will just have to wait for one to show up and buy it

Akatarawa road is sweet as at night, can use headlights to see oncoming cars.

I drive it at least once a month or so at have family/friends up the coast and in palmy and I live on Gillespies road so its the easiest way to go up that way
