  1. and your just another person trying to abuse the setup of the system to get out of a fine and penalty that you deserve. i knew a guy who drove a very heavy turbo rx3 for well over a year without getting pulled up. along with his roverV8 gemini, blown '30 modelA, '48 ford pickup and a little suzuki ute burnouter with a 1600 sidedraft esky block.. its not always a case of what you drive but how you drive. you said yourself you were giving it shit. my dad use to take my brothers signwrittin fusion crx out through town trying to get pulled up after my brother constantly bitched about copped pulling him up because of his car.. crazy enough my dad never got stung. you broke the law and got snapped, pure and simple.

  3. my 2.0 zetec is gettin full raceprep so hopefully the heads are good.. and yeah, a 500cfm holley, on what, a 2litre? thats just pointless in my opinion.. and lookin at the intake.. kudos on building it himself but... yeh...
  4. i took my sport 1/4 bumpers to a place in auckland durin last years kumeu.. cost me around $300 but they get press moulded in original moulds so they come out brandnew, and that was with 3step chroming.. a bit pricey but not many sports with their original 1/4s chromed right?
  5. well throwing twincarbs on a zetec boosts the power approx. 20hp, and a bunch of fanatics have piles or webbers or dellortos lying around.. not many people have huge throttle bodie kits spare.. and theyre not too cheap.. are ya sure? the zetec E grabs about 5-10hp running throttle bodies instead of carbs.. you sure they didnt ditch the carbs in the last step? throttle bodie injectors look just like sidedraft carbs with a fuel rail along the top btw.. yup, standard 2.0 zetec E is around 135, 155ish with twin carbs, 165ish with twin throttle bodies..

  7. yes, because thats a good idea.. twin venturi carbs make a good difference, or single/twin sideys but most people say theyre not the best for the road.. same goes with a better cam.. good place to get power but dont go too big or itl be shit on the street.. extractors? 5spd sierra box for a higher top speed?.. i guess theyre the most common things.. i dunno.. you could go seriously into an engine build up but yeh...

  9. i do actually! well im pretty sure i do.. i bought a 1300 a while ago as a parts car (mainly just for the corty box), and while the guy thought it was "the best lil 1300 hes ever had", the block says BA, so im thinking its a 1600. ill have another look later today or tomorrow, and get some pics.

  11. im looking at putting a type9 in the panelvan, as its a 4.1 diff and my girlfriends hates sitting at high revs.. so 3700 at 100kph aint a very welcome idea.. rt.. ya said the mt75 wont fit, but will the type9 fit a manual tunnel without modification? i was always under the impression that any of the sierra 5spds needed an auto or modded tunnel..

  14. hahahah the dominos boyz? exactly though.. i just laugh at my brother taking 20seconds to get through the last 2metres of my driveway, or going over the havelock north speedbumps at 5kph (i use to hit them at around 90kph at night for fun.. maybe thats why im looking at gettin my susp. uprated.).. but other than that, unless its done right and on the right car, i dont think lowering is what every thinks its cracked up to be. and yeah.. whats bagging.. around 4grand for a good set? use to be anyway.. lol
  15. ok.. next thing on the list for when i get the escort back is suspension.. but im not that good with it.. what can people tell, from hearsay or experience.. bilstein shocks? adjustable konis.. what about the whole nolathane/polyurethane thing.. im pretty clueless so far with suspension.. would considering a turret kit be way too far in a road car and a bit too much work? also would turrets eliminate a back seat? so whos a suspension expert here...

    my dad use to have a group4 1300gt rally car.. with a 5.1 diff.. topped out at 160kph at 6500.. a LOT of accleration from a 5.1 though..

    im pretty sure the only mk2s to get 3.54s were the 1600sport, rs1800,2000,mexico models.. maybe ghia.. dont quote me on that though..
