Slowly thinks to himself, Ae86 arches on an 82...
Did they restart production of 86 parts for you?
No it was all stuff that was in Stock, mostly ex Japan, but still a surprising amount was available from Toyota Parts HQ in Thames

Shit me. Did you get everything from yahoo jp?
No i'd say about 95% of it I have purchased from Ilam Toyota down here, but it's getting harder as more & more stuff is getting discontinued all the time.

brand new Ae86?
No new roof though?
Nothing wrong with the roof i've got, plus the budget was already well & truly blown at the time.
Still would like a new bonnet though, it's been discontinued a few years now, i'll keep hunting on Yahoo Auctions

Glad you finally found one, cool car, only a few genuine facelift cars over here. Was a factory Auto too, not many of those around.
You going to paint it? Back to factory Red/Black panda?

my mate has a genuine aa63 carina coupe notchback. only one ive seen so far. its a gttr i believe too.
GT-TR would be a TA63 with a 3T-GTEU in it, if it's a factory 4AGE AA63 it will be either a GT or GTR.
I missed out on buying this White GT in Christchurch about 10 yrs ago

I have a question though, does anyone know what boss kit I will need? It's going on a RN30 1982 Hilux, and I've seen that people retrofit later model Hilux wheels on their old Hilux occasionally. Is the Hilux hub/spline the same as other Toyotas? Have Toyota's hubs/splines remained the same? Hoping a standard Momo boss kit for a Toyota will do the trick.
The spline is common to most toyotas, it's just the Horn contact ring & dimples for indicator cancelling that differ between models, as well as overall length of bosskit. I was using a AE86 Long boss on my 82 Hilux, fit perfect.

I was running 14x8 -15 with 185/60/14, required the inner lips to be flattened, also you will want a adjustable panhard rod to get diff central (if you haven't already got one)
-
That's true, but the bolts on Longchamps are only cosmetic. Unless you are planning on splitting the lips off them & getting wider outers.
-
Why not just wire them to the switched 12V for the tail lights so they come on whenever your lights are on?

Usually a few to be found around Pickapart, heaps of cars had din mounted, late models Daihatsus are a good one.

Prices they are advertised for & what they actually sell for are two completely different things.
Trueno Hatchback is the most commonly recognized shape, and the most often associated with the term 'AE86' by people who know little about them. These are the people who seem to pay the big prices & are more often than not greatly dissapointed with their purchase.
Underneath the exterior they are all the same, there are minor trim differences, and a couple of mechanical differences depending on Grade (GT-Apex vs GT-V/GT) I can give you the full rundown if you care, most people don't.
Most recent sales around 8-12K for a genuine AE86 in a road legal state.

NZKW has been advertising these on Trademe recently, they're reclining but still look OK

Had a couple of 14" wheels sent EMS air, around $150 per wheel, on doorstep in 4 days.
