  1. brand new Ae86?

    No new roof though?

Nothing wrong with the roof i've got, plus the budget was already well & truly blown at the time.

Still would like a new bonnet though, it's been discontinued a few years now, i'll keep hunting on Yahoo Auctions

  2. I have a question though, does anyone know what boss kit I will need? It's going on a RN30 1982 Hilux, and I've seen that people retrofit later model Hilux wheels on their old Hilux occasionally. Is the Hilux hub/spline the same as other Toyotas? Have Toyota's hubs/splines remained the same? Hoping a standard Momo boss kit for a Toyota will do the trick.

The spline is common to most toyotas, it's just the Horn contact ring & dimples for indicator cancelling that differ between models, as well as overall length of bosskit. I was using a AE86 Long boss on my 82 Hilux, fit perfect.

  3. Prices they are advertised for & what they actually sell for are two completely different things.

Trueno Hatchback is the most commonly recognized shape, and the most often associated with the term 'AE86' by people who know little about them. These are the people who seem to pay the big prices & are more often than not greatly dissapointed with their purchase.

Underneath the exterior they are all the same, there are minor trim differences, and a couple of mechanical differences depending on Grade (GT-Apex vs GT-V/GT) I can give you the full rundown if you care, most people don't.

Most recent sales around 8-12K for a genuine AE86 in a road legal state.
