Funny that this topic should resurface now, just the other day i was watching NZPC TV for some reason, and they had a feature on a guy at the Autosalon with his Boso Style S14 Silvia, made me laugh real hard, had external oil cooler & big angled exhaust, funny shit

Mean wheels, i was trying to buy them too but was too late

There's a lot more involved with tyre stretching than just picking the skinniest tyres, you need to be paying more attention to the shape of the sidewall. If a tyre has a rounded sidewall to begin with, it's never going to look any good. 225's is pretty close to the limits on a 10" wide rim, anything narrower & you're just going to have constant issues with them

175/60's or 185/60's would be the best, only 6mm difference in sidewall between them. This is a 175/60 on a 14x6

Send me a PM with your email & i'll send a pic

I got two solutions to your wheel fitments issuses, 1. Take the front pair to an engineer and have some meat machined out of the mounting hub, effectively increasing the offset. or 2. I could swap you a pair or full set of mine, they're 14x6 +15, fit sweet on a KP
-
While we are on the topic, have any of you seen wheels of these kinds in 4x100 pcd?
Yep sure have, there is a wrecker down here who has all sorts of odd bits, and in there collection are 1 or 2 sets of deep dish wheels with 4x100pcd

I got
14x6.5 SSR Formula Star
14x6 Hoshino G5's
14x6.5 Works Equip 01's
14x7 Techno Phantoms
14x6 Hayashi Street Fins
Just need some meshies now, and another set of longchamps, i had some 14x6's but chose to swap them for the Formula star's which are much more rare
-
They're 14x6 +15, looking a bit weather beaten right now, but gonna be mint once they're polished as
-
I just picked up a set of Street Fins on the weekend, sent them straight off to the polisher. Will decide what i do with them when i get them back
-
this is getting fucking stupid!! Real sorry to hear about Scott's wagon, i'll definantly keep my eyes & ears open
-
I think you'll find that the stud pattern on those is correct, but the offset will be wrong, as far as i know that style only comes in 35-45p offset, & is not available as a blank. So you will still need to run hub adaptors to use them

This is my Grandad's one, totally original, assembled in Christchurch & been here all it's life.
Also is for sale if anyone's interested

If you have access to a welder, just weld a wheel nut on the end of it
-
Elite Wheels on Annex Road in Christchurch do wheel widening, & i also i think Royce Clive Engineering, which is under the blenheim road overbridge
-
Even just check that the manifolds are on tight, on my brother's 3K the securing bolts on the inlet manifold were only just finger tight, causing it to run on 3 cylinders
-
Yup thats right, I rang around heaps of suspension places in auckland and pedders were by far the cheapest. Everyone else was selling them for around the $150 mark.
Man You Aucklanders are getting a Raw deal, spring makers in Christchurch sell them for $50 a set with U-Bolts!

yeah, Tim. thats the fella. Here's where you tell me all the problems with it?
he seemed like a good sort though.
Nah i'd only been in it a few times, seemed to go fairly well. I know Tim just spent a bit of money getting it tuned up & said it made a big improvement
-
Hey that's my mate Tim's old 'Coon.
-
Yeah any good engineering or wheel repair shop can do this for you
-
and the MK1 celica/supras and the early celica's up to then. the Mk1 celica/supra's are a good source of cheap wheels, nice looking 4 spoke ones in either 15" or 14" with a nice dish.
You mean Mk2 celica/supras, MA61, as well as the Soarers & cressida's the same age. Got a set of the 15's sitting on my AE86 right now
-
He's right.
Corolla's up to ke25 were 4X110, same as early RX's
Corolla's after that are 4x114.3 until they change to fwd (So KE30, 35, 70 & TE71, AE86)
4x108 is Escort, Cortina, And some other european cars, volvos & alfas etc

probably the same dudes took my mates DX, seem to be going for old rollas with eagers
