That's good, I was just curious, knew your one had been resprayed, but wondered what it was originally. Very very rare to see a GTV in the original 2N2 White/Black Panda, in fact i don't believe it was ever an option until mid 1985.
So your one was originally white (038) like my Trueno GTV & Levin notch.
I agree the Red looks good, really want to get a Red or Red/Black one for the collection next.
-
What's the colour code from the silver build plate on the firewall in your car Andy? Is it 038?
-
Bumping this up again, have a few spares 14" tyres around the place.
2x 185/55/14 Toyo directionals, good tread but getting a bit old, made in 2005 or 2006
$5/couple of steinlagers each

Looks real tidy, makes me miss my old AA63 Sedan.
Reckon you should change the door handles back to black, or maybe the mirrors. Just needs something to break up all the white. Black body mouldings maybe if you got them.

Sweet, can never have too many wheels!
-
Yeah I could help out, i'm 5 minutes from prebbleton. PM me some more details
-
Shit Tarran, looks so sick on those wheels. Which car you going to use the Volk wheels on?
-
Omori would be a good option, unfortunately no longer available new, but should be plenty on Yahoo Auctions. Occasionally turn up on Trademe too.
Also the older black & red HKS stuff has a 80's feel about it
-
You sure about that? They look to be normal Dunlop Direzza DZ101s in your photos. They're just a regular directional tyre, not a semi slick, perfectly suitable for everyday road use.
-
Agree with above, why did you change the wheels? Volk wheels looked good
-
My workmate Steve originally carried out the 20Valve conversion on this car, back in 2004 or 2005, after another workmate had blown the original Bluetop 4AGE.
He was a bit sad when I showed him your photos, looks like it has seen plenty of abuse since then.
-
Seen this in the carpark at work a bit recently, should have taken a photo from the back as it looks real weird.
Apologies for crappy cell phone pic

What kind of cover? Like a hard fibreglass one? Or just a standard soft Tonneau cover?
I had a Tonneau cover made up for my old Hilux, would be a similar size to a datsun. Just done at the local auto upholstery place, was $300 from memory.

Plan to attend this for sure, & will try encourage a few more toyota guys along.

Look to be 15s, probably 6.5" or 7" wide. Set of 15x6.5s on YAJ at the moment in average condition
-
I was looking for some 2nd hand recently, dude at Roadrubber Tyres in CHCH had some, but wanted $100 each. So thought I was better off buying new. Also Ascot Auto in CHCH had a pair, think he said $80 each, but they were shitty old Hankooks or something, ask for Dean if you call.

Just whipped one up now, 021355803 if you wanna grab it

Will swap you 2 14x6.5 for your 2 14x7, might make things easier
-
Yes.
Can get a WOF at any stage, regardless of how long is left on current one. New WOF is valid for 6 months from new inspection date.

The round plug in the bottom left of your photo should be the correct one, wiring colours may differ between NZ New & Jap Import, probably explains why they are different to what you were told on Club-K. Have you located the cooling fan relay in the drivers kick panel? With the key in the on Position remove the relay & you can check for voltage on the relay board, as long as your fuse is ok you should have voltage here. With a short piece of wire you could also bypass the relay & prove the circuit to the fan. Relay itself has a diagram on the side indicating which pins you will need to loop.
-
Yeah a bit flatter looking than the 7's. Searched for over 2 years to complete that set before I gave up & sold them
-
I originally sold those 3 wheels to Walker.NZ. Got another set of 4, 14x6.5 +4 so you could run a staggered setup. Prob not looking to sell outright, but would be keen to swap for other sets or pairs of 14x6.5 - 14x8

Everything you could ever want to know about vehicle glazing
http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/virm-in-service-certification/docs/gen-5-vision-v4a3.pdf
But basically it's 35% all around for your 4 door wagon, or any other Class MA Passenger vehicle. People sometimes remove the rear seats & seatbelts from 2 Door KE70's (actually some came out from factory like that) then they can be registered as a class MB vehicle, which allows for installation of darker tint from the B pillar back.

take the plug off the thermo switch, with the key in on position this should cause the fan to run all the time. If that doesn't work then disconnect the fan & check voltage at the plug end to prove it's not a case of a faulty fan motor. Relay is up under dash on Right side, when you take the plug off the thermo switch you should be able to hear the relay clicking on & off

Sucks to be dragging this thread up again, but unfortunately some fuckers smashed their way into my garage last night & helped themselves to my MX bike.
I know a few on here ride, so would appreciate it if you could keep eyes & ears open.
Was a 2007 Yamaha YZ250, still wearing original Blue plastics & graphics. Had silver Excel rims, with brand new Michelins. GYTR Folding levers, and a shiny new FMF muffler on the back.
Thanks
