  1. I can't see your pics but a guy on ORE has a rolled Navara that he is looking for a good (double cab iirc) shell... might work out for you if you wanna flick the Nav Cab?

    Edit: here's his fred: http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... 18&t=21378

That's my workmates Navara, he just got another cab for it last week.

He had looked at swapping terrano body onto Nav chassis in the past, remember him saying it wasn't a major, but by no means a straight swap over.

  2. But mainly what I'm after is to identify the boss kit I have that is attached to the steering wheel I got.

Providing a picture of the rear side of it would be a start & also information about any markings or numbers on it, and the size & number of splines.

  3. Would need a little more info about the vehicle to confirm 100%, (Took a guess at 2001ish Estima) but believe part number should be 42603‑28330

Description is given as 'ORNAMENT SUB-ASSY, WHEEL HUB'

Even the laziest Toyota parts person should be able to do something with that info

  4. Andy the TRD Race springs are not really designed for road use, and will require shorter shocks front & rear to remain captive & also shorter bumpstops.

You used to be able to buy TRD Street springs, they were the right length for standard shocks, and lowered the car about 30mm all around. Also spring rates more suitable for everyday driving. However they now only sell the front springs, the rears are discontinued.

  5. No shit, so mine must have been ordered with the two tone blue? Always thought it was weird the first owner of mine lived in Hams but the car came from Timaru.

Mr Ling, what are your plans for your 86's? Are you going to sell one or keep both? (too lazy to read thread)

^ The rules may not apply to the NZ cars? my uncles NZ new one is blue also

Yeah should have said that Silver car/Blue interior is a JDM thing, NZ New cars were all over the place, even seen one with Brown & Tan but in full GT Apex trim, not the brown/red that is most common.

  6. Maybe it's just your photos, but the wear pattern on the teeth of your crownwheel does not look ideal, a lot of wear on the front edge of the teeth. I would suggest taking your complete diff head to a local diff specialist to be set up correctly, this process will involve removing the pinion, so probably a good opportunity to renew pinion bearings & seal if required. They will also be able to tell you what configuration your diff is set up in (1.5 or 2 way) If I had to guess I would say it is probably the TRD 2-Way, that is the most common setup (The 1.5 way model was discontinued 5 or 6 years back, the 2 Way was available up until 2010)

As for your starting problem, yes you have stuffed the timing. There is a procedure for removing & reinstalling the Dizzy. You need to ensure you have the timing mark on your crank pulley at 0 degress, then remove oil cap on Left cam cover & look for the indent in the camshaft, if you do not see a mark on the camshaft then you need to do another full revoluton on the crank. Then there are two marks on the dizzy itself that you need to line up straight. It can be a bit tricky. It is a lot easier to see everythingif you remove the Exhaust side Cam cover. You will need a timing light to correctly set timing afterwards, that is what the adjustment of the dizzy does, fine tunes the timing.
