  1. heh

yeah the efi thing was more refering to toyota's own evolution when they changed from the oil crisis born 'analogue fuel only' efi in '76-83 on 2tgeu, 3tgte, 5mge etc into the new age digital efi on 4age and 1ggeu '83 onwards. to me thats the cut off point in toy world.

yup we all have our own opinion and is worth jack to anyone else

i quite like my ke70 coupe even tho its boxy 80's style. it skids and drifts :D

  2. this will be a never ending topic. good idea to 'define' what is considered 'oldschool' since thats what we all about and be done with it.

sounds unanimous that around the time when boxy fwd efi cars came out is a definite cut off point. (early-mid 80's)

    2c on 'oldschool' definitions....

the timeline.. where after so many years cars become oldschool due to age. or do we pick a certain point in time or automotive era where we wanna stay... ie sounds like we're livin in the 70's :P

to try get me point across... eg oldschool could've been 50's/60's where the car had to have a pushrod V8 in a big barge with tail fins and pastel paint jobs... (something like that)... then a new group starts and what they consider is 'old' is alot newer... 'jap crap' etc. so as time progresses the definition of oldschool eventually moves on.

for me (toy nutter) the big change is around '83 where toyota converted just about every car line into fwd.. corolla, celica, carina, corona... yeah.

the introduction of the 'new generation', light weight, '4 valves per cylinder', digital efi, plastic everything eco box's. where 60's/ early 70's curvy stylish meets late70's & 80's square plastic tackyness.

oh but come ooon, tell me this aint oldschool :D

where its at, is fukloads of chrome, steel, curvey, styley, basic engineered, fuel guzzlin machines, things you dont see every day that ya parents grew up in which these days just look the shiz sacked out on ya deep dish's. :D things that definately stand out in the everyday sea of plastic wrapped 17" chrome hubcapped shopping trolleys.

everyone's got their own definition due to the time continium space hyperdrive thingeemabob whomephlacky whatsyamacallit thingee majiggy huer

  3. how bout put a 4af into it... the narrow angle twin cam carby. mounts and box and all that will bolt up pretty easily and no efi to hassle ya... and the extra 100cc's and 16v should do well.

one of my flatmates had 4af ae92 wagon and beat the other flatmates 100kw redtop 4age ae92 gt-apex

yes we cracked up too coz the gt-apex flatmate thinks the world of it ha ha

  4. hey man... there are differences in where the corners, headlight surrounds and grill etc attach. the front ends on 20's, 25's and 26's are all same thing depending on the year. i havent gone through every one of em and checked but generally 70-72 are similar (indicator corners) and 73-75 similar (separate indicator in guard). though usually you can make things fit.

i could probly check for you the grill/headlight combination you want to try out as my ke25 and ke26 front ends are half disassembled currently
