  1. trdchick's point has been clarified thru the aftermath, as harsh as her opinion is! :oops: i dont see the need to discuss this anymore. the backlash is pretty clear how other club members feel about it so hope ya think twice bout makin comments like that in future.. hmm another oldschool thread turns poos.

    i look forward to seeing both club's stands at future shows.

  2. argg give us more notice next time, i woulda met up, i was just around the corner that night too! :x

    i found that place was funny rather than scary. oh and coming off the papakura exit is easier to find the place

    i reckon wait for the maize out the back to grow then do a korn-evil night.. or if they ever get the paintball running dat would be mean

  3. i put some pics up here

    http://www.toycrazy.net/gallery/skidfest/12-05/

    unfortunately my car not ready as i'd planned on entering.. oh well

    ive got a few vids.. will *soon* be putting up the 1ton ute doing the 20sec twin popper and of MORG the black hearse. the blown beamer too oh and the mk1 esky. pity my mem ran out when i vid the blown v8 s4 rx, that was mean as

    i liked the turbo rotor blue lancer EX thing revvin the tits off it.. pity rotors putt out when they get hot

    nice writeup nige!

  4. where bead blasting comes into its own is where theres a fair amount of surface rust or worse... the bead/sandblast gets rid of it all so when you get it back your only left with the decision of which parts to cut out or fill in.

    you'll never completely get rid of pitting with sandpaper without thinning and weakening the metal which also takes time and manhours

    theres no point in a sandblast if your just repainting

  5. hilux's come with a w59 often which will have clutch parts... or the G series boxs in hiaces and liteaces, townaces (G52 G55 etc) interchange with supra box. like the 5k powered liteace has a bellhousing to fit a supra box etc.. funny shit.. but yeah find one with the clutch slave on the correct side as your w57. clutch forks vary in length and pivot point location so find one that suits.. pickapart is a good place to stuff around

  6. theres some guys in waiuku that have started a beadblast shop just for cars.. a mate had a mini completely done and underneath too then they spray some fancy etch primer over it before you get it back.. i think that cost $700 and my panelbeater mate says he'd never sand a car back to metal again! they're booked out till jan tho :oops:

  7. also it handy to have a terminal bolted into the engine bay for the starter and power wires to bolt to around where the battery originally was.. just make sure it's insulated from the body lol

    im about to do the same. if your running a lead/acid battery then try vent it to the outside especially if theres sounds nearby. have heard of speakers and amp corroding from battery fumes

  8. most diesels have a w59 or w51 with a low ratio first gear

    im running a w55 behind a 3tgte and it not so bad with a 3.9 diff but too tall for the other end of the 1/4 if i want full rev's in fourth. maybe good ratio if i were running 12's or 13's

    t50's and w55 arent too dissimilar in ratio..

    when people refer to a 'celica box' they should also mention whether it steel or alloy case as w50 and t50 are mostly considered celica boxs even tho they come in just about every other rwd toy in the 70's

  9. ive yet to find one that says differently to the chassis numbers

    kp60 = 2k 1000cc

    kp61 = 4k 1300cc

    kp62 = 3k 1200cc

    scotts dad ben owned bj's heh. they had the white starlet wagon for spares too and yeah i was pretty gutted when it shut and i too raided the place for parts before they shut. 8x ke2' rollas in one wrecker!!
