did you see the 2litre engine option!?! on other cars as well as the rs2000
-
i thought it became illegal to widen rims anymore because of people doing it badly and having their wheels break in half whilst driving
-
hey man very nice car, i always liked the capris with the useless airvents taken off leaving the moulding. With the throttle cable, there may be a kink in the cable somewhere, i had a problem with my bonnet release cable because of a small kink, also, make sure that it isnt ur foot pedal jamming, maybe a bit of crc needed??
also, whats the point of having adjustable front suspension and un-adjustable rear suspension?? lift the front up but not the back??
-
i think they mostly came with 1.3's actually as they werent seen as a sportier version or anything
-
i only got the dash top quoted, maybe depends what car or dash u have, the lady just looked it up in a book and told me 150.
She told me that they cut off all the parts that are old and crusty and keep anything still usable to try and keeps its original shape then fill it in with a hardening foam which they then sculpt then they recover it and spray it whatever color u like
-
yea i got quoted 150 for my dash from dashboard restorations at: 8c Parity Place, Glenfield, Auckland. ph 09 4444211
-
they were originally built for disabled people i think and some came with seats that came out of the car to get into. if it had a standard 6 cylinder it would have had a 2.3 v6 probably if it was from the uk
-
cool i'll try it
-
so is your weber jetted for a 1300??
-
looks like a good car man. where'd you get those spares coz ive got a 32/36dgav but its jetted for a 1600, is your spare the same or what? coz i wanna put one on my 1300, also where'd u find the interior light coz mines cracking too and it would be cool if it worked hehe
-
my sister has a mx5 and its pretty fast and does burnouts so easily its a 1600 n/a so a 1800 turbo would be awesome as and mx5's are rwd too
-
lol yea i just saw it
-
yea thats probably right, i couldnt remember exactly what shell but it was something similar with the flared gaurds
-
yea but im pretty sure sports had type 49 shells too, just a bit crappier than a mexico engine wise
-
only rs escorts came with disks front so your disks have probably been changed to mk2 at some point without you knowing thus they are the same size, mk1 escorts came standard with 4 wheel drums
-
escort or cortina??
-
nah forgot my camera
-
dont suppose anyone here went to it but it was an escort car club track day and there was heaps of nice as oldschool fords, about 10 racing mk1 2 doors, one with 160bhp from a 1600xflow and a 50 y/o woman driver. about 5 capris, one was a 2.8i factory turbo, about 5 mk2 2 doors and 1 with huge flares and massive wheels - fuckin badass!! and an anglia with a 2litre dohc telstar engine - 145bhp with mk1 escort flares and was pretty fast. there was also 3 sierra cosworth 2 doors and 1 4 door all were very quick and a few other cars like porsches and my mate had a datsun 1200 coupe and there were the usual frasers type cars too which caned and a triumph tr7 with a tvr 4.2v8 putting out like 360 i think. awesome day, was like taupo should have been... i think it was about 100 per car and you had to have a base level motorsport license, a helmet and an overall
