225 rwhp. is that a vr4 motor ?
-
cheers ,when i built that car i think i was one of the first in nz to transplant the commy v6 even the local holden dealer couldnt help me with much . first started to do the job in late 92 and finished in late 93 . full rebuild on whole car took time and heaps of $ was finally redg and certed in early 95 drove it for 2 years without missing a beat then flicked it to buy house. if i still had it prolly have supercharger or twin turbo set up by now as kits are avail in aus now then it would have been scary

yup
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/741564
the torrie set up was pretty easy as we used the stock ecu /intank pump etc so it was really only a case of plumbing a return line and wireing the computer and pump relays and fan etc
-
a mate of mine has a zc powered crx rally car has 160hp at wheels with only mild mods [hi comp pistons, cams ,pod ,exhaust ,ecu.] its an ex dave strong car and is fuckin qik wieghs about 750kg stripped and caged also has a lsd diff. goes extremly well and is f#&*in fast on shingle[me just about shat pants]

how hard would it be to set 2 of these throttle bodies up on my 351w ? what sort of ecu ? can u get a fuel only ecu? as i still have a dissy could 1 efi pump supply the 2 t/b. youve got my brain working now . i have set up an efi system b4 in my lc torana [3.8 v6] so could prolly do most of it my self

i see ya point but the same could be said for rotarys in every thing else. there aint anything old hat about the v8s comin from the land of the risin sun mate they are as advanced as any 4/6 . why do ya think that most of the stock cars are usin them now . theyre light, powerful and fuckin reliable they only thing they really lack is cubic inches and that can be made up for with forced induction if any thing straight 6s are old hat
-
look how popular the older silvias are. how many brand new or less than 2 years old ones do ya see? when did they start making the s15 shape 5 years ago? and no new model since . i think they are dying a slow death too

yup they dont any major panel beating just a couple of small dents the price was to totally strip ,straighten and rechrome. including frieght from hastings to gissy and back. a mate just got his 69 camaro ones done . they look like brand new ones that youd pay over a grand for.
-
just got a quote from gissy electroplaters of $600 each for the bumpers on my fairlane. these guys are prolly the best in nz most of nzs hotrodders get their chrome done by them

bout time i jumped in. the 302 w is an awesome engine go the 347 kit it makes them honk ditch the tunnel ram it makes them pigs to drive at anything lower than 5000rpm. it will go far better with better throttle responce and a far more useable power range with a edelbrock victor single plane manifold or similar set up. the c4 is a good choice go to a 2500-3000 stall convertor and a stage 2 shift kit and youll wonder why you ever wanted a manual. dont forget the diff gears its pointless building a seemy drag motor and trans to kill it with 3.0 diff gears go to a 3.5 minimum or 4.11 for drags. the biggest thing is to NOT over cam the engine. choose a cam that matches the rest of the engine specs. my choice of specs = 347 stroker kit ,fully balanced, flat top 10.5-1 comp pistons. a cam of around 550 thou lift with no more than 250deg duration roller rockers and matching valve springs, port the heads for clean flow not max flow other wise youll kill the throttle responce.victor manifold and a demon 625 double pumper carb, go for an MSD dissy with a 6AL control box. this should give an easy 350-370hp thats nice to drive anywhere . this should do easy mid-low 12s if ya want to go qiker bolt on a 150hp nos kit.
