hi there, i used to have a tc 4.1 corty with 4 speed manual. it went real well even as a stocker. rebuilt the engine with 2v head , flat top pistons, mild cam, holley carb, lightened flywheel, 3.5 diff ratio. it hualed ass, used to run low 14s @98 mph pretty qik for a street car in the early 90s managed to get runner up in the winter street meet series at thunder park in 92 swapped it for a rx 2 13b bridgy wish i still had it bit of a rare bird now. still ive got a mk2 corty with a fully worked chev v6 dynoed 312 hp@7250 look for pics soon

hi there, 2 litre cortys are a fairly hi comp engine. on new gas they ping like f#%@ that is why it idles and starts better with the timing advanced but runs like shit with your foot down . try easing the timing back or try some octane booster or avgas. having white stuff in the dissy cap certinly wont help either

71 GTR torana, vn commy 3.8 inj v6 auto. car fully rebuilt from ground up aprox $ 35 grand totally mint got 2 pics street machine mag june 97 sold to buy house[ i just about cried] in wanganui now i think .
68 mk2 cortina, 229ci chev v6, turbo 350 auto, hi stall, 9in engine is fully worked [300hp@ wheels] most of engine is out of chris johnson's blown/injected v6 rail [ran 8.2s in late 80s early 90s] so cant wait to put down strip
