Oh yes, I do intend to build up a spare head at some point and get it running harder! But will still look after this engine best I can in the meantime.

I must be blind! I checked the website and have read all the blurb, as quoted above, but it does not mention leaded substitute? I also read the label in Supercheap today and again so no reference directly. But a prepared to give it a go!
-
Strange they don't mention it as a substitute on their website? There is a FAQ reference but no actually info saying it is?
I wonder if they will post me some up? I suppose I can stock up every time I am down South though.

They could make the axle bend for you I would think?
On my Mk1 I run a straight through oval back box and a small can midway down the system. Single box systems sound good and breath well, but will do your head in on longer runs! I also have a short flexi section between the manifold downpipe and start of the system with no issues and takes up any slight out of line.
My Mk2 has a custom 2.5" stainless system full length with again two silencers. Probably have pics??
As mentioned I do have a RS2000 system in the shed if you want any measurements.

Look up a company called AUTOBEND in Christchurch, their website lists all the bends and sections you would need to make your own system?
-
Cheers. So that stuff looks after the valve seats then? Didn't come up in any of my searches. I will check it out thanks!
Just need to be able to get hold of it in Whangarei, or posted if possible.
Any ideas where I can get some to try, of each type?
Cheers

I have used Rally Design for a few years myself now. Just buy two and sell one on to get back some of the postage?
Should be pretty easy to get one made up though? I have one in the shed if you need measurements.
I have used both single and twin box systems by the way. If you want less drone go for twin box, the second just being a smaller "cherry bomb" style.
Cheers

Hi Folks,
If I am wanting to run a pinto engine that does not have hardened valve sets on unleaded fuel, what additives do you lot suggest?
I have been using Castrol Valvemaster for a few years but could not find any today when out and about?
I see a Nulon product called Lead Substitute, but not where I can get it from?
So what is everyone using and where is best to get it from please?
Cheers

Yes thats the same fella. People keep telling me about him and his cars in the same town as me. I must find out where he is and go along and meet him for a beer (or two!).

I am bringng it in under SIV and also as I have owned it for over two years prior to import. So no big dramas other than getting compliance sorted, thats where Jim comes in as they specialise in all things TVR and Lotus and know there beans.
For info, the rear end can bite! Even in straight lines if you floor the gas it snakes up the road from side to side under the power and low weight. You have to be real careful on bends!
Is the Tuscan you fellas are talking about the one that is up here in Whagarei? Apparently the fella has two of them and the full race spec car is a bit of a special animal. Must be the same one I guess?
Cheers all

Cheers fella. Its a 4.2 AJP as rightly pointed out. Sounds even better with the cats out!

No ABS, No Traction control, just lots of power and big brakes. They go very well indeed!

Cheers fella, just glad to be back down here!

I'm just a tart me! I had the whole thing welded up in mandrel bent stainless to match the car. Yes it cost a small fortune, but will last me forever and I don't intend ever selling the car. I got some additional work to the system done by Mark Herbert in Auckland as I did not like the hanger brackets. They are now a work of art in my opinion. Basically trying to say, if you want the best then it cost money. If you want to go cheap, then be prepared to make sacrifices.
