  1. u can make a 3.9 a 4.0 by grinding off the lil ridge in the head that fukin simple as done it a few times now, if u gonna put in a 4ltr tho migbht as well make it own and xr6t it , just read up about a 1000hp street driven one (when i say street driven i mean no low rpm probs)

    lol, yes the motors are cheap, everything else associated is not.

    my mate has one in a series 4 RX7, goes good when its going, but if the wind blows the wrong way something breaks, fart with too much weight on the left buttcheek something breaks...

    christ, ants stopped the fucker.... got into the coilpack made a nice home and totally destroyed any spark generating capacity... new price? near on $1000... afm (i think) died, new price? theres that 1K again.

    so yes, a good conversion but only if you have good hook ups on cheap holden parts. and thats not too hard, a lot of the parts are easily obtainable 2nd hand, but who wants to keep putting 2nd hand parts in their good car?

    oh and as much as you can claim its a buick, its really a holden, holden into ford is just plain wrong.

  3. hahaha, i was on the piss at a mates the other night and we got to talking about bathurst, and he had some old pics of his old man when he was in the navy, anyways his oldman was in aussie with two busloads of fellow homo's, i mean navy guys, and they drove round the circuit in their buses, and in one of the pics they have both buses side by side going down conrod and they're passing pints between the buses.... awesome. would have been at least early 80's maybe earlier, hard to tell really.

  4. gotta remember that even if they let nissan or toymota or whoever in, there still wouldnt be a huge difference in speeds results etc because its all parity racing. thats why they were biffing weight penalties at the skylines (and sierra's), to try and make it even.

    personally i quite like the current set up, but then im biased as. :P

    thus starting the never ending holden vs ford battle..

    its not only ford and holden that can enter in the v8 supercars series...its cars that are manufactured in australia, so mitsi can enter aswell.

    they can't. there's things like diff choice etc that are shut tight so nobody else can really get in

    lol, they have to be aussie produced, 4 door sedan, use a sub 5 litre pushrod V8 from their own company and all the other blah...

    in theory chrysler 'could' do it when the 300c production starts in ozland.

    mitzi made a mockup, i think using a magna bodyshell and holden mechanicals.

  6. didn't fare too badly aganst the civc man, b16a's are over 170 hp stock

    thats pretty much what i was thinking... too many people say "its just a honda i should beat it easy" but in reality its 160-170hp, in a lighter body with better gearing.

    id say you did bloody well staying with it till you ran out of gears...

    and its never cheap doing something thats a bit out of the ordinary dude.

    full credit, its a mint car.

    could maybe adapt starion popups... same sorta shape, sort of. if you squint a bit.

  8. I chose the colours etc, roughly discussed the patterns etc but they came up with most of it, trusted them from all the the cars ive seen they have done etc.

    btw, you gona be selling that 5 speed box etc anytime soon?

    lol, when i read your first post i thought the same as rt... you hand them a cheque and say just do what ya want...

    does look mint though dude... how about a V8 conversion now... :D:D

  9. with your leads just grab one of a car you know runs well, and swap one at a time till you find a suspect one, then just replace that one. as you said, its just a daily so no point in throwing money at it.

    i doubt itl be a ht lead tho.

  10. id still be inclined to say alternator fault, maybe an intermittant one?

    sounds like its not getting enough power to run everything, which is why it gets worse when you add an electrical drain to it.

    check all your earths, maybe a main power lead is sapping your power, ie between your alternator,coil, starter etc.
