  1. Hey guys,

Can anyone here weld up exhaust's and replace mufflers? The exhaust on my 94 Legacy broke where the pipe connects to one of the center mufflers, and the piece of pipe (about 2 feet long) is now missing :D

Have just taken it into Pip Stop and they said it'll be $650 for a new muffler and a piece of pipe! Wondering if anyone on here could do it, or know where I could take it. I don't mind paying to get it done, just hard to justify $650 for a 2 grand car

    Cheers,

    Matt

  2. I've also got a set of coby's but am thinking of getting something else due to hearing bad things about them. Also apparently the coby paint falls off straight away? Anyone know what those polished ones that are always on trademe at the moment are like?

    Cheers

  4. Alan Fisher in Gisborne is buildin my escort motor at the moment, definately knows his stuff. Is tweaking the valvetrain at the moment to get the max performance from my cam. He used to own Fisher Automotive so still has all the parts catalogues and orders straight from the suppliers. Will ask him the exact specs on the head gasket for ya when i call him next.

  5. My engine builder sorted it out, but im pretty sure its just an ACL part. Think its made of carbon, will be talkin to him again in about 2 weeks so can find out for you if you like. My pistons are 40thou over, 1300 ones.

  6. Could be worth gettin some oversized 1300 pistons though, as getting a motor bored and honed is only like $120 and then ya get a nice fresh bore. Have just done exactly the same thing with mine. Also an uprated head gasket to cope with the extra compression.

  8. Yea weber are generally more expensive so i thought they'd be a better carb but dunno. managed to get the ones in that auction for $400 with a few spares. I had a set of webers but i sold them for $400 coz i ran outta money which was a dum idea! still have 2 or so rebuild kits with heaps of parts for the webers so should be able to make some money back selling them off. just gotta see what parts are interchangeble first.

Guy on trademe offered me 2 reconditined delortors for $700 so he must be able to get the rebuild kits from somewhere? must be after market shiz.

    Cheers

    Matt
