how about a V6 ford thundebird engine, very similar to ford explorer V6 i picked up a 1996 supercharged V6 ford thunderbird engine and box with intercooler from a wrecker about 5 months ago for $1000, came with the auto trans. has cast iron block with alloy heads, still a pushrod engne but would be very kewl under the bonnet of the capri Befor you ask me if i still have it, i dont, sold it to a guy who is putting it in his Mark 4 cortina

ive been driving my V8 Mazda MX5 for nearly a year now, just never owned or mucked round with a big cast iron 8. I think it will be fun

hey guys thanks for all your responses, ive decided to keep my 283 and rebuild it, ive been told be a V8 performance shop that i cannot stroke the 283 but i can put 60 tho oversize pistons to increase the displacement to just over 300 ci. Im going to disassemble my motor and freshin it up with some new pistons/rings and bearings, plane the head, high lift cam and some good extractors, this should do the job nicely, the engine is in a 1991 Mazda Luce so altho its a big car it wouldnt be as heavy as an impaler or what ever the 283 came from.

I have a 283 chev engine id like to rebuild, is it worth it or shud i just find a 350 ? can i make my 283 any bigger by changing the crank ? any thoughts ?
