  1. If your really keen,

A 2L ford Zetec engine would be the way to go,

(they bolt into cortinas with cortina mounts) but not sure about the mounting on a escort,

yes the engine is out of a FWD

yes it will bolt to a sierra 5spd

only thing that may need to be changed is the water rail to move the thermostat housing to the front.

they can get the parts in for ya

  2. Ah yeh well considering those are the only two photos of those cars on the gallery pages of that event, yet there are front, back, side, top photos of some of the other cars that didnt even win awards :S

    makes me rather angry....

Chairs for the info Alfaholic, good to know the coathangers are alive n kicking :D

  3. nah it aint that obvious, yeh if you know what your doing then youll find it

    Datsunboy its a mk5 cortina,

Rather than go for a switch to turn off the fuel pump or electrics, the previous owner set up a unit to block off the fuel line,

I recall i think its a simlar solenoid thingy (blue bit) they use in petrol/lpg setups.

altho, a setup like this, with the kill switch in teh GO positon

    uses bout 2AmpH,

so dont forget to switch it :D

  5. 82 cortina 8)

Project is now up to finding and fitting a new diff.

cortin diff heads being the non-removable type, its basicaly one hell mish to get it all sorted.

once thats done is gettin a a few dents fixed, and trying to find some ford focus alloys (seem to be the onlyones that will fit) for it.

  6. After being around for 22 years now, my cars bumpers, mirrors, louvers etc have faded considerably, what ways do you ppl recommend getting them back to there orginal state?

i have tryed a few bumper/vinyl products, they dont seem to do the job though ? any ideas?

Also Vinyl roofs, what products you can recommend?

    Chairs,

  7. Thats a stock manifold there mate  , bolting on a turbo would basicaly be a bitch. adding a turbo to a carbed engine is a nasty nasty peice of work.

better option would be to get hold of a 2L cosworth turbo engine, they pretty much bolt up, however they are as rare as ****.

my engine is stock as for now, only real mods to the car havnt been done by my self, but the previous owner.

    They include:

    5 speed sierra gearbox

    ReCored radiator(covered in mesh)

Electronic ignition (some came with it some didnt, i think this car has had it transplanted in)

    AIR HORNS woot :)

Hella light kit ( square lights in grill) (these are the brighest car lights i have seen!)

Just gotta piss you off tho, i had a 2.8L turbo capri engine all lined up, was just waitin on the price from the dude, then he goes n sells it :S

270$ for a engine that woulda prolly trippled the HP of the 'tina

  8. Um yeh it did in that pic,

The middle of the front valance is now about a inch away from teh radiator... had a issue with a rock.

other than that is okay, the paint on a few panels has been redone as can been seen on teh different shades of blue.

The only prob with it is this!! cast iron boat anchor, er i mean 2L shit engine:

    engine

    interior

    Love the wood :P

  9. car

    Aint she just gawgeous :P

    Yay for no f%kin leafeys!

A lot of engine swaps are possible, from 2L Cossie turbos, through to 2.8L Capri engines (some also turbo) then of course the v8 options.

If you do buy one, the first thing to do is put 205 tires on all round.

Trust me they will save your ass :)

    Si.
