lol just watched the vid
is it a standard 2L ? or what cause it sounds nice doesnt sound anything like mine haha
-
i might bring the esky thru will see what happens
-
on my pinto ive got 2.25 inch exhaust off the extractors a zortex sports box before diff and a coby after the diff sounds nice on idle but when ur driving dont really hear it intill the car hits 4000+ rpm heh
all up cost $800 from pitstop thats moding my extractors aswell abit pricy
and im still thinking of changing the coby for a big bore or straight pipe to make it abit louder
-
-
ahh thought it might look flash with the big price tag or something hehe
-
so what does a msd blaster coil look like? any bigger then a normal coil or what? got a pic im too lazy to go find one!
-
how come you gotta use flux? is that just a preference??
id stic to like 0.9-1.2 normal wire for a start... never worked with the oozy flux core stuff
nah u have to use flux wire for gasless or u will end up with bird shit
but i use gas most of the time only ever use gasless if i run out of gas lol
picked my mig up for 300 off trademe was only couple months old works great
-
my mig is gasless/gas gasless is ok doesnt spatter everywhere lol u gotta use flux wire tho only difference with gas is its much Hotter and melts the welds abit better.
thats what ive notice anyways..
-
that is so sad, got better footage? like someone doing a real skid lol
-
host the video footage i wanta see
-
or get another 32/36 carby ive never seen that bit on any of my carbs thats hitting the burton cover ? weird
-
Can't hear them at all? really? you must have got it mint.
Good stuff.
yeah was very happy how it turned out!
the cam must contact the rocker in the middle of the pad aswell or the two of them will wear away very fast, this must be checked with ground camshafts.ok, yeah i think i got it all setup properly i just did everything the haynes manual told me took about a hour cause i rechecked everything about 3 times lol.
im lucky i havnt done my motor in as the first inlet rocker was so loose i dont understand how it stayed in place lol
i guess this shows pinto are pretty strong engines heh
-
well finally fixed my tappets after reading the haynes manual
cant hear them now, main problem i found was on one of the tappets was the lock nut wasnt even done up and that tappet was mega loose
ended up using 8 thou inlet *20mm* and 10 thou exhaust *25mm*
seems to have a nice smooth power range now and can rev it out abit more!
overall very happy

dont know anything about the cam at all
all i know is its brand name is "camtec" cant find there website or anything
also have another cam from them in my other engine dont dont know the specs of that either all i know is the one in my car atm is more lumpier then my other camtec cam!! lol
yeah i might leave it for someone who knws what there doing. theres one place in palmy who specialize in fords etc.. "fortec performance" same people who are doing atropine zetec!
might get them to sort it out when i get my twin 45mm sideys and some head work done depending whats already been done to it..
thanks anyways RT ur lotsa help!
cheers

yeah no turbo in the way. but i dont know the cam specs will give it a try!
-
Well after having my car on the road for a month now the one thing that annoys the hell out of me are the tappets
What i wanta know is what are the settings? has a lumpy cam.. is it 8 inlet and 10 outlet? also what rock does the cam need to be on to change the settings?
AND is it best to do it when its cold or hot?
cheers

my belief was the 4.1 was the common one for most 4drs..
since youve got a 5spd.. a 4.11:1 aint a bad option.. generally better pickup than a 3.54..
mine is running the 4.1 diff with my pinto 5spd makes 1st and 2nd pretty short atropine can vouch for that
yep good pick up tho

I was just looking at the sierra mounts today, there definatly not going to do the trick, off to pick-a-part to get a pair of cortina ones.
When the sump gets modified does the oil pick up need to be moved ?
Once i start on it i want to do thw whole conversion in 3 days MAX.
nope oil pick up stays where it is. U only really need to cut enough to clear the crossmember
yup u should beable to do this in 3 days if not sooner u seem to know ur stuff
