-Brake Pads
-Weather strips for doors

Not the most exciting toy but just got a new xf ute v8 which will be my real toy
-
Found a camera in a old morris 1100 i think the camera was worth more then the car back then lol.
-
looks awesome, loving it
-
+1 to you keeping it
-
what size tyres you got on your new rims?
-
On my old escort, i had 2 coby's 1 up front and 1 behind diff with 2" piping. Could hear the cam on idle was quiet and sounded good when u feed it.
I was gonna get my escort done there back when i had it lucky i didnt!!!

Check the condenser, that will cause the car to not fire, and they tend to die randomly only about 15 bucks for a new one from repco
worth a try ?
-
just chuck a v8 in cant go wrong with that!
-
not much of a update chuckd abit of paint on to tidy it up
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/63 ... ed001.jpg/
Once its dry will clean up any over spray and tidy rest of the car up
still gotta paint front spoiler/bonnet
didnt come out too bad only 2nd time i tryd to paint haha Was only after a nice tidy finish not some show car finish cause its just gonna get chipd etc..!!

yeah i think i definety gotta get carby rebuild to suit the motor
what i have done is lean it off abit, took it for abit of a blast seemd alot better so will see how it runs over the next few days but definety will be getting it rebuild
cheers

Was bored today whipd off my 32/36 carby that came off my 2L, Forgot there was a rebuilt 32/36 sitting on my old 1600
Chuckd it on no more flat spot or surgeing up in the revs really really smooth.
It is a pig to drive when ur trying to do 50k or slower slighty jerking if u dont have the revs high enough but im guessing thats to do with the cam in there. Cause its done that on the past 2 carbys
Hopefully in the near furture i can get it to someone who can tune it and get everything 100% to where it should be!!!

wow ur engine bay / setup make me get wet in the pants!
awesome
-
just changed leads to some old ones i had seemd abit better
i guess ill start with new leads/plugs
-
ended up having alot of issues with the sidedraught mainly car was running out of puff / breaking down at 5000rpm and couldnt drive it normaly say like 50k or slower without it being extremely jerky
put on my 32/36 webber still had the issues ended up being some dodgey wiring on the dizzy got that all sorted now it seems to rev / pick up speed slow mainly over 4000rpm its got heaps of fuel and if i advance the timing anymore it pings. while it still is slow above 4000rpm it still reving out 6500+. But take it time getting there and with the sidedraught it was really quick to rev up id say the cam its got prob revs out to 7200? power band comes on over 2000rpm
i had this 32/36 on a worked 2L and it worked fine
anyways anyone got any ideas? cause it should be a nice smooth reasonably quick revs
it is running on 91 gas atm not sure if that be the issue or not or plugs or leads? any ideas are welcome
Over option is to put the sidedraught back on
-
Anyone able to recommend a exhaust shop in palmy north ? i know theres pitstop and manawatu mufflers
looking at a full exhaust extractors back
Motor is workd 1600 cam, ported head / sidedraught carbie
what would be a good size 2" ? whats the tyical setup resonator 1 muffler? i want best performance and a good sound
cheers

oh yea and for the love of god the throttle cable omg what a mission to get it working on the sidedraught ended up buctering it. Will definitey have to go get one made up properly for it atm its just giving just over 3/4 throttle so not quite all of it.
-
Got it all running now, Had a few problems 1 fuel pump was stuffed on it had to replace that and carbie liked to leak petrol got those fixed was running abit lean so gave it some more fuel so will keep tweaking intill it runs even more awesome.
my 5speed isnt the healthiest wines abit so that sucks, 5speed just touches inside the tunnel little bit of viberation on idle seems fine when driving tho
did the basic sparkplugs condenser, rotor, points etc..
She goes pretty well specialy up in the revs, i dont know what the cam is so cant really push the motor too much. I totally didnt expect the 1600 to go aswell as it does, seems to fly along
Will definety get it on the dyno and it everything tuned properly and make sure the carby is all jetted properly etc..
Just running factory extractors/exhaust will defintey have to get my bigger extractors on and get new exhaust made up prob wouldnt wanta go any bigger then 2" id say

scored a 1600 crossflow off RotaHolik5 its only a early model tho going to rebuild my good 711M 1600 block next year some time
in the process of putting it in. Put a 5speed on it so spent the day doing all that stuff. got it in the car gearbox in driveshalf on etc.. still heaps more to do lol
Gearbox on
Inlet ports look better damn smooth looks like someones tidy them up at some stage
dellorto carbie not sure on the size either 40mm or 45mm
Has brandnew exedy clutch, meant to have a hot cam, rest of the motor is unknown just hope it goes when its ready to start lol
-
sounds good and looks like it will get up and go too Good work
-
That i didnt know, Would of thought something would be different they seem heaps longer
but hey if i can raid all that crap out of the panel van, driveshaft, exhaust etc.. that would be a bonus! been sitting for awhile has a good motor in it feels abit wasted atm lol
-
just had a look at the panel van yep seems heaps more longer then the 4door lol so i take it stealing the 1 peice driveshalf off that is out of the question unless i get it shorten
-
So my 1600 is getting pretty tired in the esky
just chucking up weather to keep it 1600 or chuck in a 2l pinto
i have a full pinto setup my panel van, just trying to decide to rip it out or not lol , but im guessin the exhaust and the driveshalf will be heaps longer then the 4door?
can any1 confirm that cheers

Pinto would be easiest/cheaper option theres a zillion of them around parts shouldnt be a issue.
