Wow. What a score. I hope I'm not the only one here who thinks this...
Please don't paint that! It looks so sweet.
I'd happily chuff/chugg about in that all day long winding up the rozz. "Yes sir..its fully legal! " Gonna follow this one with interest
yeah that's what I'm thinking. The rear left door will have to have rust repaired quite a bit but I'm taking photos as I go so I can restore all the signage by hand. The patina will likely stay, at least for quite sometime.
The wife says it will need to make us money back, so if you see me selling burgers out the back come and buy one-

That is sweet!
How did it survive so well? Whats the story behind you getting it?
Cheers man.
I used to have an orange MK1 2 door which made an appearance at one of the ancient/early nats in Taupo in '07. It's actually my mate that's been recently looking for a 2door also and kept sending me escort ads to check out with him. After telling me to stop sending me the mentioned ads cause I will impulse buy something, the cup runneth over when he sent me the ad for this van. That was it I had to have it.
It was basically an old fella's work van for many years in Hastings until it came off the road in 94. Rego was cancelled then. I have no idea what the go was for over 20 years until it was sold to a dude in Wellington who I bought it off. I may hit up the original owner or his family once this is going and chase up some of the story details.
Shes got a rusty floor that needs fixing. Needs interior sorted, the seats are totally decayed as are the door cards and dash. In the process of refurbing a MK2 front end to fit in. If anyone knows if the MK2 crossmember takes the early mk1 control arms please let me know (they have 'track bar' things from the xmember going back rather than the mk2 style sway bar going forward)
For the time being, i will keep the 1.1 as the money is too tight to go through compliance and low volume. -

Happened upon a chance to get back to Mk1 land, after a long time. Didn't think it would happen but stoked.
Mightly 1100 with a rotten floor. Seeing it in the flesh its bloody awesome, lots and lots of character, runs strong albeit with slightly seized front drums.the Lazda is just about running and ready so this will be the next fun project. Good times.

did you order via email? assuming you didnt go through a online purchase then? i got one of ladaworlds torsens. assembled all by hand so ve no idea when it will go bang but we'll see i guess. received in around a week with full track and trace along the wayThats very cool! how far from driving is she?
I've brought parts from russian4x4, they responded to my emails really quick, the shipping cost is just a guide, they revised it to 60 euro for my order of bits which were in a lighter freight category.
looking at trying ladaworld, but it all looks the same to me! Really want the 2 wheel drive conversion for the transfer case, used to drive mine without the front prop shaft, made the steering much lighter for around town

youre welcome to stop in for a look if u want. as for bolts yea. guess i could get something local. i actually got sucked in for extra bushes and ball joints (cheap), then came across cheap flares etc and it just went from there....
