Yeah i just did the satin black version on forza, looked better in my head.
So oe spec it is. Looks much better irl too.
Going for a quick shakedown run today, need to turn it around so may as well go up n down the street a few times to shake the last cobwebs off.

Colourscheme ideas for when body is finished....
Back to oe spec colour and vinyl roof was the gameplan.
But part of me thinks that satin black body, no trim strip, black vinyl roof. Gloss black bumpers and cragars. Chrome around front and rear screens, and gutter channel chrome, would look choice.
Throw some ideas at me fellas.

Changed my mind about the shed, want car on the other side so i can still use lathe, grinders etc, and most importantly reach the stereo.
So for todays mission i am reorganising the shelves and moving shit from side to side. Another crate of rubbish full already. Still not convinced it is all mine....

Shed has been a mess for 4 years at least. Started as organised clutter then progressed to utter shambles.
Took most of the weekend, and a few hours tonight. But it is nearly ready for car again.
Done one trip to the dump already, have to take some waste oil/dirty fuel containers to work to empty out. And move a few things to the garden shed. Nearly have room for the tv too!

Interesting. I should be using a 3.2mm nozzle at the most. Might have to bodgy something up and see.

Compressors are always drained nightly at work and home, but the old beast has been very well oiled on the inside of the tank. Old pump nearly pushed more oil than air for years.
I had planned on a ply frontage so clothes can't get close to the belts.
I have had this little antlia running nonstop for 3 hours once, its warranty is long gone but i can't justify buying a new compressor until it dies. So will keep on trying to make things work better, in the short term at least.
I have a fucking old 3hp single phase motor i have considered hooking to a new 2cylinder pump if i managed to get the old tank. But that is more toy money than i can spare at the moment.

Some great ideas here fellas.
I have a benchtop side loader that i use, for the 15 seconds at a time when my 20l compressor has enough charge to pick up the sand haha.
Have my old falcon lpg tank i plan to drain/wash, to turn into an auxilliary holding tank.
There is also the old 50's workshop compressor tank at work i want to get off the boss. Add some wheels to the legs it already has and mount the blaster on top of it. Must be 300l on its own.

Week off for school holidays, going to try clean up and paint the driveshaft for the 3.45 diff. It is in a very sad state currently.
Pic of it here somewhere......

Exactly. And the cretins that say 'free wof with service', but leave off the fine print part of 'but we will be nitpicky to fuck when we check it'.

Dealers opened out the service intervals then adopted dealer pays servicing costs during warranty period. Almost like a cunning plan to save the dealers money, then once it is out of warranty and half flogged it isn't their problem anymore.

Found an alloyhead, c2 casting so a bit small on the chamber size but will cc it first and doublecheck.

Disappointed your not keeping the 6.... but v8s are fine i guess lol

Dont 80 series springs fit the back of those for 3-4 inch lift?

Both. Early like mine are iron. They made half a dozen different versions of the alloyhead from 1980ish to 1990.
I think it is something rediculous like 40kg weight difference in the heads by memory.

I have taken it to 6k a few times and it does it well enough but throws the waterpump belt any higher than that. If i ever get to drive it regular again i will add a deflector pulley or change the brackets around.
The best way to get them to rev is put the 200ci rods in them with special pistons, but acl stopped making the pistons a decade or so ago.
There is one guy in oz who takes his to 7500 on the strip but he has many years and mega cash in his motor. Sounds horny as with triple webbers on it though.
