Ray Hartley Motors specialise in classics and they're a bunch of good guys. They will be fair and concise but be aware that if something is a fail, it'll be a fail. But they're really helpful to get those failures rectified and can help source rare parts.

Bit optimistic for a Wellington winter
Standard British optimism. Hope of unrealistic expectations. Mutter "typical" when it doesn't work out.

Can we book the sun for next time? Great to meet you all

What sort of time?

Sweet as, I'll PM you my number if you don't mind passing it on next time someone mentions it?

Moving to Wellington soon, anyone know of either decent places to apply to or vacancies available in the motor trade? I'm a mechanic by trade but I've done valeting in the past too.
Just thought I'd check here before I drop CVs around.

Sadly the 140j is spoken for! Otherwise I'd be all over it

Road to Paradise from Queenstown and beyond. Sir Ian Magellan(sp) said it's where he imagines when he thinks of Middle Earth.

Thats coz half the locals are cooked 24/7 lol.
Is that bloke still squatting in someone elses house across the main road there? He was on neigbours at war and rode a pig. Propper tinfoil hat wearing crazypants.
Also know a guy further round the corner from wreckers called Russel. If you see him, tell him nathan says hello.
Haha! Yeah, not half wrong that. Nah the squatter is gone but I do still hear stories about him. There's a few round here with a screw loose. There's a few sections being built on too so there's always a chance it'll get worse. That said, an absolutely awesome family from Auckland are building a house here. Will say hi to Russel once I've met him.

In terms of the suspension, you'll get better results by fitting shorter shocks as they're probably bottoming out. Also see how much clearance you have on the bump stops (get a fat mate to sit in the boot and bounce the rear up and down). Cut down the bump stops if there's issues there but leave yourself some level of cushioning for those big yumps in the road.
