  1. I bought the car from Ontario where they salt the roads in the winter and it's humid as in the summer. Pretty much a recipe for disaster.

I'm in Alberta where they use calcium and magnesium chloride mixed with sand on the roads because salt is pretty much useless after -10. Was bloody -30 two days ago!! I call it "spanner weather" coz it really tightens the nuts haha!

  2. Dropped the bumpers and tail light surrounds off at the chrome platers . Should have them back by end of Jan 2017.

Bloody hell can't believe the price of chroming. Daylight robbery!! Oh well they will look sick when done. Cant beat shiny chrome r100 tail lights!!!!

Also need to find someone to restore the Grille. The mesh is paper thin so I need someone who knows what they are doing to alloy weld up the one hole where it looks like a bird has been hit or something.

  3. Spent some late nights and got the car completely stripped back to a shell. Snapped a few bolts on the way but thats the way she goes. Stoked to get the glass out with no troubles. Vinyl roof came off better than i thought.

Skinned the ol knuckles a few times trying to remove the under dash bolts. Man these cars a designed for little Japanese fellas not big Ogres like me.

  4. Hey guys so I'm doing a full ground up build and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best way to replace or cover up the factory holes where rubber plugs usually are in the floor pans or fire wall. The originals are all perished or missing.

Would rigid heat tape or just weld a plate over them be the best option?? After any ideas thanks!!

  5. So the r100 finally arrived yesterday. I know some of you guys still didn't believe me haha. The reason it took so long is because.

    A) Most companies refuse to long haul cars that don't run.

    B) I waited for an enclosed trailer hauler to become available.

    C) Its 40hrs door to door if u were to drive it straight.

The condition of the car is exactly how I expected it so no suprizes there. The worst are the sills, bottom of the rear quarters and front guards are rotten. Doors, chassis, boot, floor pan, bonnet, bumpers, roof and engine bay are all in good to really good condition. The interior is in very good condition minus all the mould on the seats.

    Piks to follow!!

These piks are as I got it. Dust and mould is 30 years old!!

  6. The red rx3 sedan is sweet, along with the gloss black rx2 sedan, orange 323 wagon was damn tidy too (race seats are temporary, he's on the hunt for factory seats).

I was suprised at the relatively wide variety of wheels there to be honest.  Not just the modgies / lenso's / simmons that are normally the only choice for wheels.

Was cool to see most people have all aged and grown up a bit too, there was a few kids running around, less stanch attitudes of being too cool for school etc.  Most people I just randomly went up and chatted to were nice n friendly.

Yeh mate that black 2 and orange wags are sweet. Plus that blue 4 has some different things going on. Different is good!

So you guys reckon the reason for the more mature crowd is due to the more strenuous rules and regs to run an oldschool rota these days? Also the budget/price of keeping cars like this on the road?
