  1. My van has loads of rust on the side of the roof, it's surface rust that has bubbled up through the paint. I'll post some pictures up later.

A lot of the advice on here has been about rust removal on parts that are able to be removed from the car.

Would it be possible to wire brush this down and use the acid and then reprotect/paint this?

  2. Unfortunately I don't have the know how or means necessary to swap out an engine and running gear. I also own next to no tools! (been in the country 6 months).

I would love to have had an 18RG Twin Cam in it as I think it does need a bit more power lol. Just so you know it's a pop top. So probably even rarer! It would seem such a shame to see it go.

The front end has had a bit of knock too. You're more than welcome to have a look Al. Would you want it as a Camper or just as a van?

    Will PM you :)

  3. Hey Guys,

    Been a reader/non contributer a while now.

Just thought I would come on here and ask for your advice about what I should do with my Hiace. I bought a Hiace in Decemember (2015) (Campervan) and used it on a few trips. I noticed that it burnt a lot of oil, but kept topping it up.

Fast forward to the present and the engine has been slowing dying on me. I took it to Tony's and he told me that the 3rd Cylinder has lost compression and he reckon's it could be a sticky valve. He tuned it up to best he could and he even got it running smoothly again.

About 4 week ago. We were driving out of Greytown and the engine seemed to be ok. Then it suddenly died and it feels like the fuel cuts out under load. Took it back to Tony and he told me that it's probably the 3rd cylinder has completely lost compression.

My question is.. what do you think my options are? We were about ready to sell the van on anyway as we want to get a bigger one. 18R engines seem to be rare as f**k and even if I did source one. By the time I have fitted it, i'll have spent about 75% of what I purchased the van for.

Would anyone be interested in a van with a dud engine?

Anyone know where I can source and fit an 18R cheap so I can at least sell it for a better sum.

    Any other idea's are welcomed!

  4. I still enjoyed it.

Watching Chris Evan was a bit cringe worthy at times and the forced friendship between them both. He's trying too hard.. But I liked the new rally cross format!

I'm going to continue watching it.
