  1. So still in the process of gathering the many parts required to make this happen. Spending a little on cosmetics to keep me going. Reverse eye leaf springs for the back, adj Capri coilovers on the front which I'll have back (from engineers) by the end of the week. Once it's low I'll be cheerin. Also some personalised plates. Can anyone make the connection? :D

  2. Thanks. Yes I never knew of them until I was standing there looking to buy it lol. The interior is average. Dash has cracks, steering wheel faded, denim seat coverings are torn etc. Nothing that can't be fixed but the focus is getting it to go fast. Looking old & shabby should make it a hilarious combination :D

  3. Thanks. I did look at Zetec & Duratec but to do it properly would've cost at least double what my Pinto did.

About $3500 for the retroford fitting kit + shipping & import duty, dry sump (Duratec) $3000 so the steering geometry isn't altered, throttle bodies & engine management $4000 etc. And then the cost of engine mods like cams, porting, rods & pistons, machining etc because a standard 2.0 zetec/ duratec on Carbs or ITB's only makes 150rwhp, the same as my pinto.

  4. Thanks for the comments and compliments guys. It is a great car and the poll results are overwhelmingly in favour of leaving the car the way it is. Thanks for the votes.

Brockzila the MK2 coupe is a 1980 2.0GL Denim pack. Not sure if I want to cut this one up either. But if I sell it who knows what would happen to it? It was a bit rough when I first got it. The interior is shagged. I've had a bit of rust cut out & repaired but overall it's a pretty solid car.

  5. Hi. Lots of things changed with your val over the years. I had a tuff NA 2.0L pinto built up for my escort with twin 45's and it runs 14.5 sec 1/4 mile. I am wanting to do what you've done but in the opposite order. So now I'm part way into a turbo Pinto project. I am curious to know why you sacrificed speed & power (turbo) for NA?

    Thanks
