  1. Well well well ........ Been a wee while! Some things have happened... Sketch level 100 Sketch level: over 9000!!!! Fun findings: Any suggestions? I bought a panel puller and I'll give it a go. Plans now: Straighten sills and rails. Strip whole underside back to bare metal. Epoxy prime. Seam seal. Undercoat/chipseal Something like that. Both subframes will get dissassembled, and all the parts sandblasted and re-coated. Not sure whether I should powdercoat of paint at this stage .... Suggestions?? Till next year...... ELEVNS
  2. So, ANZAC weekend resulted in some work being done: Brake booster is regrettably still attached, as I could'nt be assed getting under the dash. But it will be getting binned in favour of these: Courtesy of pe-arce, they will live on inside my nissan. (next to my new TIG I bought) need cheap tig work? hit me up!! And look at the amount of wiring I ripped out! (without any cutting might I add) 99% of which will never live in my engine bay again. Now to strip the rest of this sorry Nissan. Need more storage in my garage for the influx of dirty Nissan bits sitting round...
  3. Pretty sure I want to see brake line photos! Haha doing the same setup on mine
  4. So! Last weekend went a little like this: Engine in the hole: Engine not so much in the hole: And out! Sold gearbox, clutch, injectors, afm and laid it to rest on a nissan engine stand: Also bought myself a new toy, time to get some holes filled! If anyone has a couple engine stands to make a rotisserie out of, i would be keen. Or if anyone has a rotisserie going spare......
  5. So! Spent the last few months doing this: Little car nut joined the family. Super stoked, excuse crazy eyes. Back into this, got some jdm packaging again too: Which contained all my missing bits. Still less expensive than paying drift tax here! Also i just won these last night: SO STOKED!!!!!!!! 15x7.5 and 15x8 look suspiciously like a set of 7.5s though.... Which I'll still be ok with. Should be here in a few months depending on when mlracings next container arrives! Next up, engine out, sell some bits, strip, rotisserie, weldy weldy painty painty. Xoxo ELEVNS
  6. Thanks for the great writeup! About to do this to mine, getting some great inspiration from this. And its fine with the reservoirs, just pop the instrument cluster out when you do pads/fluid? Fairly simple
  7. So, a few weeks ago I bought myself a flash Olympus camera. Tried it out: OK i guess. It also takes normal photos: Need to scrap that white one asap. It's taking up too much room! But anyway, that's January's job. then onto the good one!
  8. So! Fitted my louvreshades: Need to clean my windows. Also mocked up a nx1600 coupe digital instrument cluster on the parts car: They look like this: Which I think is pretty badass!
  9. Defintely keeping the bubble wrap sleeves! So lush. Yeah man. I believe I am the only person in N.Z with the 180sx ones. Theres a small handful of s14 ones and even less s13 ones.
  10. So! I recieved a package from the land of 'J': . Which turned out to be these: Foamers gon foam. And picked reyumz up : Look pretty good tbh
  11. They push the bottom of the shock 25mm towards the centre of the car, so Isnt really that much I hope. Could always make slightly shorter ones

  13. So, In my infinite wisdom, instead of doing anything worthwhile, I bought new wheels: 17x10 saleen reps. Were stupid cheap, so will rock these for now untill I find some nicer 15s and then re-cert. They are 5 stud, I have some hubs coming for them and will keep 4 stud for when I get said 15s! Primo. On the bad side, they will hit my front coilovers, offset is +20. So am looking at getting something like these made: Extended lower brackets for coilovers, as I hate spacers/wheels will be mexican asf with spacers, not sure on the legality of making your own, but might be cheaper than getting a full set of Megans from the US. Join me next time for more tales of bad decisions and woe. ( or I will end up selling these wheels to someone, holler If you want em! Haha)
  14. Just a quick question in regards to this; Would it then be legal to run brake lines from the engine bay, through the firewall (with proper bulkhead fittings) and out to their respective wheel wells ie: brake line tuck? Have heard differing opinions, like I would have to run them inside covers/piping but haven't seen anything about it.
  15. The only issue I am having with going with a link, is wire in vs plug n play. Would love to have a wire in for future applications, but rewiring the whole car is a big job! (Nothing I cant do). Will be doing a custom engine harness anyway, so I am still on the fence really
  16. Just trying to figure out whether to do a plug and play or full wire in link. Looking at something interesting for wheels, weds albino, advans, ssr mk3s just something quirky, not the usual ssr mesh or mk1s
  17. Yeah I think I will, just gotta deloom and shave engine bay first, figure out what plugs etc I dont need then can do the link and tune! Gotta make it look like it doesnt run haha
  18. So, a bit of history on this thing. Bought it about 4 years ago sight unseen from a DJ in Dunedin, organised to meet him in Wellington to finalise details, and drive it up to Auckland! As I was boarding a flight to wellington I received a call saying the car had run a big end by Blenheim, apparently because the turbo seals had gone and shat most of the oil out the exhaust! not fun. Results below: Weldy weldy. Towed it to Auckland, where the donk was removed and sat in a sorry state while the engine was slowly pieced back together with a new crank, forged H-beam rods, forged pistons and s15 t28. After too long the mighty CA went back in the hole, a little shinier. essentially, it had a whole metric shit-ton of teething issues, rust in the fuel tank clogging the vr4 injectors, bad tune, awful looking engine bay. Over the next couple of years, I tweaked it here and there, re-sealing the fuel tank (not fun!) new injectors, tune, new turbo, new cams, cam gears, and so on and so forth. It went from this: to this: Now with a fan shroud. (sorry for big pics, will work on it) Specs as of right now: CA18det (forged) standard crank Balanced/ matched rotating assembly 269/8.7mm cosworth grind cams, Garrett GTX2863r Turbosmart 38mm wastegate Parts shop max Hi-mount intercooler 1000cc Deatschwerks injectors 320lph deatschwerks fuel pump Tomei FPR All engine paint + cam cover etc done by me. Catch can by C's garage. Estimated 220kw atw.( no dyno yet!) So now my dilemma is whether to go to a link ECU or stick to the standard CA ecu which can barely keep up with my injectors ( 8 bit lyf!)
  19. Thanks man! Only been here a couple months, it's been great so far! Love the south
  20. HI guys! Long time lurker new poster. just moved down to Christchurch and thought I should join the wonderful world of oldschool! Unfortunately I do not own anything oldschool anymore as my KP61 sprint is no longer with me . But I like the community on here very much so I hope you'll let me stay! booo! No oldschool? Well I have decided as my rego ran out last week, to do a full refurbish/slight restomod on this: It made the drive from Auckland to CHCH without a sweat and the mighty CA18det is going strong on 18psi with mad overtaking skills yo. Plans are: Full refurbishment of chassis/arms/bushes/underseal get the interior super lush make it a nice street car instead of a beat up s chassis that "d0ez mad skudzz ow" Ca will make 250-280kw when tuned. never take it drifting and have a lush 200 when all the rest of them are F****d Also have a fetish for rare JDM parts, have these coming: Will be ditching the A-techs to whoever pays me cash money and having it look like this: 15x7-8s and some nice clean body. Still on the lookout for wheels. So yeah! Will start ripping into the build soon. Thanks guys! (p.s sorry if the pics don't work, doing this from mobile so will fix them tonight!)
