What is the going rate on those?
We have a mint A50 with 7000miles, never even ridden it so should sell it so someone can enjoy it.
I paid $700 for it. Maybe a little high but I was willing to pay around that for a moped/scooter but this is cooler so I'm happy with it (so far lol)

Having worked in paint shops, never pay up front. Progressive payments mean they will get it done. Do it when you have time means it will take 3 years and be rushed when you get sick of waiting. Pay peanuts, get monkeys
We have a couple of big jobs (cars) at work that the owners said 'no rush, whenever you can fit it in'. Well we're always super busy and don't look like we will get to them any time soon. The owners have been told this. But oh no, apparently when they talk to other people we're useless and can't get the job done.
Boss is almost at the point of telling them to fuck right off.

Those that can't understand why a quality paint job costs an arm and a leg probably should firstly do 15-20 years learning the trade properly then go out on their own and set up a paintshop at a minimum cost of around 100k then battle with rent, ratshit paying insurance companies, consumables, increasing paint prices, booth maintenance and compliance, worksafe pricks changing the rules all the time, tax on top of tax on top of more tax and then you may start to understand.
Been there, done that. Have spent the last 34 years in the industry from being a one man band to owning a shop that employed 3 painters to owning a paint distributorship. And I can say with certainty that 80% of the high prices and quotes are bollocks.
But I guess I was able to run all of my business's effectively and efficiently therefore I could pass on the benefits to the client.
Too many paint shop owners are in it for the wrong reasons.......I wasn't.

I'll check out ali express tonight when I get time, Do you think Honda would still do genuine?
Keen just to restore to factory as it has the black and red seats, from a quick uneducated google I think it was the only year/ model to have the red pillion seat. (Is it called the pillion seat? I'm right out of my knowledge zone here.)
If you have no luck sourcing decal set it would be easy enough to replicate with paint.

Thanks man, will let him know.

Man that's sweet
Yeah it's pretty cool.
The guy I got it off found it in an old guys shed and got it running for his kids. Hadn't run for bout 20 years. He pulled the motor apart, have it a quick hone, slapped the old ring back in and it runs like a champ. He also re-bonded the front brake shoes, made a new fuel line and new plug and points.
Plans are not decided yet but unfortunately I do know my 110cc won't fit it the frame, pffft.....

Well technically it's a Scrambler Horse that's been re-powered with a Robin two stroke, which is an industrial engine made by Fuji Heavy Industries and sold as a Subaru-Robin.
Does anyone have any idea where to find info about the bike. Have searched but every other Scrambler Horse is a little different in little ways.

20k minimum. I'm getting my Mk 1 GT Cortina done soon and budget is 25K and that's a fully stripped bare metal car and the painter has fuck all to do in the way of prep
I'm in no way doubting you or the quality of your painter but to be honest I always struggle to see why it costs so much. Yes, you pay for quality, but 20k when the hard work has been done?
If you knew how a paint shop really worked you'd question it too.

Finding the right person to paint the car is probably as/more important than the actual cost.
Very very true statement.

If you get it done at a shop then you'll need to figure on between $75 & $100 per hour plus materials. A good shop will do it this way instead of "quoting" you a price, quoting you a "price" leaves it wide open for them to say 'Yeah, sorry mate, there's more work than we thought so the price is now ........., if you don't agree it becomes a shit fight to get ya car back outa the shop.
This one i did awhile ago was a BIG job.
This job cost $6500 including materials. (Bearing in mind i was working from home so i could keep costs down.)
That's down to bare metal, fix body work and re-paint.
Whole car had been sprayed in spray bog but looked ok when customer bought it as a complete but torn down project. He got it all back together and then one day noticed a small blister in the paint, so as most would he dug a bit and BAM the whole thing went c**t up.
This is how it turned up (first two pic's are at customers house)
YES, that IS 5mm of spray bog everywhere.
Random pic' to show how much filler it actually did need, not the buckets it had.
And how it left my place.- 36

Stoped in at the painters just before and showed him, he's fucked off it's happened and wants me to bring the part that's gone to shit in and he said he will make 100% sure it's fixed for me!
Says that it's possible Honda used some kinda wax when molding the plastic that's absorbed into it, has a few ideas for a solution though, so that's good!
Of coarse he's "fucked off", he tried to cut corners but has been caught out.
The 'wax in the plastic' thing is total bollocks and a piss weak excuse for shit workmanship.

Bad prep' cutting corners and not using correct products.
"Painters" like this fuck me right off.
Sorry for the rant man.

So i go to pick this up tomorrow. (No doubt it will sit beside the other one in the shed for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng while lololololol......)
It's a Phillips Gadabout mk4, which is a rebadged Motobecane Mobylette.
This thing has been repowered with a 160cc Victa mower motor.
Will start a thread for it when i start to do something with it.
