  1. So what i've found is.....bugger all really.......

    1 = Enamel (Duco)

    Sapphire Blue

    3 = Berger (paint brand)

    Other codes for that colour are,

    BLVC 96

    or

    BU 96.

    It seems sapphire blue was a bit of an "oddball" colour.

    Your only option would to be get it matched, which any competent automotive paint supplier should be able to do.

    Or ask them if you can see their blue 'fan deck(s)', by the time you've gone through all the blues you'll either have the colour nailed down or given up and painted it red lol.

    Sorry I can't help beyond that..

  2. Oh don't you just love the French sense of humour.

    At a loss with what to do about the TS and its motor being a cunt really.

    Im over fucking round with the 50cc so the only option is go bigger displacement but still wanna stay 2T. Next step will be go have a geez at a JR80 to see how the bolt to frame/measure size but they have an offset exhaust port too which could be an issue or maybe a RM80 engine/dunno

    I've got a mid 80s and a mid 90s DS80 here if you need pics or measurements.

    Bloody hell, yep that's the number on the frame, how'd ya know that?? Was looking thru some stuff, its still got original rego papers and shows my Grandfathers purchase in 1966!! Was sold new in Whakatane in 1960. It has a Villiers 2 speed engine. I got some cables from England a few years ago, and they aren't quite right, but hey what can ya do. What condition are yours?

    Got a parts breakdown booklet too if you interested. Do you know the wheel/tyre sizes? I see you got some new rims, did they fit?

    Wasn't hard to work out mate, your username here on Oldschool and the first Gadabout Mark writes about in this article.

    http://www.icenicam.org.uk/articles2/art0036.html

    The Geoffrey Clark in the article has a big collection of mopeds down in Napier. I've spoken to him a few times and will pop in to see him next time i'm down there visiting my mum.

    I don't have any cables, was just going to get some made because of the motor swap i'll need custom made ones.

    As far as tyres go, the only place i could find them (23" x 2") were from here http://www.mopedland.co.uk/chain/index.html#tyre

    But as my rims were rotten I'm going with 24", which by my reckoning will work fine.

    Just joined the page, was interested in progress in your Gadabout. Also got one in the late stages of reno. Hams based.

    Had a dude from England come for a look a few years back, was keen on the history of rear shock models.

    You still got yours??

    Sweet, yeah i've still got mine. Won't be getting rid of that one. It's a loooong term project and currently in boxes.

    So yours is # 8N2199 yeah?

  6. Would you be interested in fixing / sorting my wiring? Mates missus is an auto sparky and was going to make a new loom for me but she spat out their first kid instead so would be few months before she can look at it.

    For a A50 so nothing complicated (but too complicated for this retarded old spray painter lol)

    Would anyone like to take the 1969 C50 cub deluxe off my hands? It's got a years rego, doesn't need wofs, and will be like sub $40 a year to rego from here on in. The motor was fucked, and has been discarded, so slap in your favorite China motor and off you go! To cover the cost of the bike + rego + plate I would like $250.

    Regards, VG.

    Hmmm...... I really shouldn't......

    But I do have a good 110 semi auto here......
