  1. Yep the c52 has the two starter ears on it. Am just using the c50 case (has all the linkages set up for the aw) with the c52 internals/crown wheel but the lsd from the c50. Have to clean out the chunks of pinion gear first though...
  2. If you could see the amount of gearbox parts i have floating around my garage you would know it's not as straight forward as swapping the linkages for me hahah. But yep thanks for the advice, think i'm gonna keep my lsd but swap the crown wheel over from the c52 and use the rest of the c52 internals. Was worth cracking them both open anyway because the c52 was very unloved and needed a couple bearings replaced. Should have at least one good condition gearbox out of this!
  3. Hey so i'm rebuilding my aw11 gearbox at the moment. Bought a spare for $50 but it's a c52. So i have a couple questions - will the parts from the c52 fit in the c50? Is the only difference external? (Excluding the 5th gear fix) What would be the ideal combination of gears if the 2 are compatible? (E.g 1st from this, 4th from that etc) My c50 has a chewed pinion gear so my main question is - will the output shaft from the c52 fit in the c50? If someone could shed some light that'd be rad
  4. The previous owner did mention using a bigport head actually. I think seeing as it's running nicely (albeit a bit rich) I will just leave it. If i ever get any head gasket troubles or get bored later on - swapping a bigport head might be the go! ...Or i could just go all out an put a 20v in there... How hard is that conversion?
  5. I hope you're right. But the original engine would have used an AFM - whereas the one currently in it has a MAP sensor. I assume this means the ECU would be running as if it were without an AFM, and using some sort of overly rich base tune? I don't really know, hence why I'm asking the internets
  6. My AW11 has a smallport, non-TVIS 4age in it rather than its factory bigport engine. It is however, still running the bluetop loom and ECU - which does seem to work ok for now! But when looking into getting the proper ECU to suit, i saw that the ECU plugs are different. Bluetop TVIS pin layout: 10p 18p 14p Redtop non-TVIS pin layout: 26p 16p 12p My questions are, how would i go about hooking up the non-TVIS ecu to my car if the pin layout is different? And what difference will the swap make? Will the car actually run better or is the current ECU fine?
