  1. I just use cheap mr muscle glass cleaner. Don't use washers and wipers in the sun.

If it's really bad you could clay bar and then polish.

If you've got little pieces of ... stuck in your glass then clay bar and I think a spray of some sort (Meguiars Quik Detailer?) to lube up the clay works wonders.

  2. have you found out what is wrong with it at low revs?

If it's a high compression engine and sounds like knock/detonation, it may require 95 or 98 fuel and try an engine flush additive.

I have a way different car with a high compression ratio, it'd make shitty sounds whilst in 1st gear and taking off. Now it only does that when I take off in 2nd for the lols.

Or it could just be your cams are lumpy..

  3. yo yo

I really foam over air intake set ups that replace a head light/part of the headlights. Given that head lights are very important safety features of a car is there anyone who has had success with this in regards to LVVTA certification? I have read the lights section of the document but it would be nice to hear from those with first hand experience.

    Something like this:

  4. Avoid. Contact doesn't really know enough English to communicate all the req'd info,

Majority of cars are grade 3.5 (or worse)

Mainly export to developing nations, more lax

Regarding emissions - you could pay your shipping agent to double check, but should only be an issue if the car doesn't meet Jap 2005 standards, some Euros may be worth double checking if they are made earlier than 2007, as are rotaries and turbos. If it's an 05+ econobox it'll be sweet.

  5. How did you do this ??  Is it paper or vinyl wrap,, and if paper how did you stick it on there an seal it and such?

    Car looks good

I'm guessing he glued it on with something real strong and once everything was done hit it with some clear coat.

Looks really nice. Love the classy touches re mudflaps and fuel cap

    Question...

When you say avoiding police attention, would you say cars with say 2.5"+ exhausts and too many decibels attract the 5-0?

  6. I think it could work for a group, say a section of students of a school doing vocational automotive work, or registered members of OS or any car club, or say a University on-campus facility.

Some sort of registration/admin/authority would go a long way to preventing hazards, because there is a lot of boring unsexy stuff that needs to be taken care of in terms of council shizuoka and legal this and legal that, OSH, etc.

I'd definitely use facilities not just to work on my own car, as i am a relative noob, but also make friends and learn more about doing shizz

But what happens if you turn up with a really sweet project car, any shady fellow or anyone who wants said car really badly is given the knowledge that you have that car and risk for that car getting stolen increases. Another reason to keep out the ninnys

I'd like to keep the Fords on that side and the Holdens on the other side though

  7. I disagree with stereotypes, every ethnicity has their share of bad apples and no different when it comes to driving. I've been involved in an accident with a middle aged arrogant white guy and he probably saw me as some little (brown) shit in a Ford Explorer, almost hit by a van in South Auckland failing to give way possibly driven by brown folk, point I want to make is that it comes down to the individual behind the wheel. Not a true representation of a whole race.

  8. People movers handle like boats anyway, they and big 4wds usually cut corners and cross lines so always be behind the lines at intersections.

If I wore a turban for cultural/religious reasons I'd wonder how to fit a helmet over it too, cbf taking it off to wear helmet and then re-fixing it again, would just buy a car.

Used to catch bus daily for about 5 years to town and back everyday, one morning driver just chose to drive 100m or so on the other side of the road, approaching Newmarket by Epsom Girls. Fair play to him though no oncoming traffic.

  9. E34 V8. they are LUSH. Old cheap BMW's are almost never reliable though.

    Or this:

Hmm I was looking at one listing last night, pretty sure they were advertised as one of the most reliable BMWs ever made haha

Alfas are sweet, an older Alfisti once told me pre-Fiat Alfas were fun to drive, good if you're buying but not if you're selling cos of reputation and flying under the radar of the boy racer crowd... his words.

  10. Ever witnessed a lunatic driving, and take note of what they were in?

I've seen a Mini (late model BMW Mini) in the pouring rain cut me off, not give way at a left turn, and we both ended up at the same set of lights, and then proceed to weave between cars and speed off.

I've got an embarrassing story about a middle-aged lady and a Peugeot too. She wasn't a fan of safety first, I was learning to drive, and later that night I practiced launching.

  11. Skyline R33 Manual, got mine for under 2k and in reasonable nick, I fixed the boot leaks and now much nicer car. It also came with 16" mags and half decent sounds as well. It had the basic SOHC 2.0 and compared to big brother it has stuff all power but has enough for what I need as a daily and handles well.

    RB20 right, not the SR20?

    You got a bargain!
