Does anyone know of any threads where people have made a trailer out of a 2500/2000? I've seen a stag one, but can't find any for the 2500.

Wish my fuel pump didn't give up and I could've made it to Rotorua for a geez.
-
To anyone that guessed the fuel pump was at fault, you win. It was working intermittently due to one of the valves playing up. When I tested it, it was working. Probably why I missed it. Now it's been fixed she's running mint now.
-
Swapped the coil out this afternoon, it now starts but runs like absolute shit. Whole engine shakes and the engine is quite hesitant. It dies if I don't give it gas. The coil I put in today was an old one, I've ordered a new one for the sake of ruling it out as a possible cause.
I don't think the timing could be out as I haven't touched it.
I'll check valve clearances over the weekend as well, mainly because it's about time for them to be done. -
In today's episode of office boy plays with old shit and fails I replace some bits and nothing happens.
I managed to swap the HT Leads, Condenser, Rotor and Points. None of that helped me though. Still won't start.
So I did what Blizzo reckoned and which the top off the carbs, I was greeted with this
That blury yellow stuff is fuel, running a bit rich haha.

Cheers for all of the quality suggestions. However I removed the fuel line into the carbs and shes pumping a decent amount of fuel through. I dont think the line is blocked either as when I removed the inline filter there was good clean flow.
My next guess is possibly the condenser. I've heart a faulty condenser can cause similar issues to what I'm having.
I've ordered HT Leads, condenser, Dizzy Cap, and will see if that helps it. If not fuel pump diaphragm will be next.
I've also gapped and slapped some plugs in it.
Neal, how difficult is the diaphragm swap?
If neither of the above options help the carbs will be getting looked at.

Was hoping to head down to Rotorua today but the TC wasn't having it. The car was intermittently hugely down on power. It would either pick back up or run roughly and die. It got to the point I couldn't restart the car and had to have it towed home.
I believe the issue may be fuel related. To people who are familiar with these, is it usual for the fuel level in the sight bowl to fluctuate between 30% and 100% full?
I thought possibly the inline filter was blocking the flow, but after replacing it I cut it open and it looked pretty good. Not bad enough to hinder flow I think.
I've grabbed a set of plugs and I'll order a set of leads to take them out of the possibilities.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why it might be intermittently down on power I'm all ears.

Will be there with a gift if this rain clears
This is also me.

Fuck, look at the shine. Looking good.

Doesn't matter if it's shit? Right, Old Triumph parts it is then!

shitty fuel light flickers from quater of a tank down though
This is my life when driving the bloody thing. Creates worry in passengers when there is plenty of range to go.
-
Odd that it needs a quarter of the tank, the sedans have a big swirl pot in the tank to avoid the pump sucking air and doing this, I'd maybe look at adding a surge tank and having the main pump feeding from that, which for some reason I thought the estates had factory. Having to always have quarter tank would drive me nuts. Good work on the respray, and is agree with your panel beater in not removing the sunroof, fuck that, the roof would never be the same again.
If I have any less than a quarter tank in mine it won't start on anything other than flat ground.
My guess, fuel gauge accuracy = poor.

I am led to believe this is now painted. Where is our update on the Estate Sweetness?

In a pinch you could whittle down a bit of manuka and drive it in with a hammer.
This sounds like the genuinely British thing to do.

Aptly named Super Legere mode by ThreeOnTheTree, Triumph in full race mode. Later that day she went on to run consistent times around 21.6X. Back of bonnet popped because the Honda boys told me it increases airflow.

I'll be in attendance hopefully. However I have nothing to gift as I don't keep old bits.

Bit of progress made this arvo!
First tip, remove the plastic bungs in the inlet if you want them not to melt in the oven.
Engine bay coming together nicely. Before and after pics to show.

A little bit of progress again tonight. Changed the radiator hoses and thermostat cover as well as a few other hoses. Then I slapped the intake manifold and throttle/ choke cables on.

I'm not too sure. I just asked if they could coat it with something Hi-Temp.what did they coat the exhaust manifold with?
It's shiny, I'm happy.

Nice surprise at work this morning, Rimmers had delivered!
I only managed to get the manifold gasket, exhaust manifold and bottom gasket on before the rain started! Black powder coat looking better than rust already. Decided to give the air intake Flexi hoses a bit of a scrub whilst inside with nothing to do.

Got my shiny pieces back from the powder coaters
I then poked the radiator back in
Fumbled my way through making some cork gaskets for the carbs. Now I'm just waiting for my manifold gasket to arrive to put it all back together.

The 202 or in this case 3.3's really respond to small things well as they are a very under-stressed engines.
The EST was there to lock the ignition and stop people putting too much advance into the engines to counter the lack of low end power, it really was a shit bit of kit while they waited for the RB engines and the V6 to arrive.
I too have gone with a VH dizzy in my VK and immediately it pulls a lot better at lower revs.
I also used one in my quick LC and it was mated to a twin coil setup which gave it excellent spark to over 7000rpm. To produce decent power in these old irons the compression needs to be raised but even without that doing the things mentioned in earlier posts all helps.
I hope you get to do some mods and look forward to hearing how it goes.
He probably won't be doing much, some bastard flogged it on Monday night/ Tuesday morning unfortunately.

Radiator has been dropped off to be reconditioned, it wasn't cheap but oh well.
Rusty fuel lines have been replaced.
I've ordered a new manifold gasket and hose kit. Should be here next week I'd hope.
I got my bits and pieces back from sand blasting today, I'll drop them into the powder coaters tomorrow
These will hopefully go a long way to tidying up the engine bay. I also gave the bay a bit of a clean on starboard side whilst all of this is out.
Also on the list:
Replace thermostat cover, replace all hoses and clips/clamps, repaint rocker cover (better this time), organise for the wiper motor assembly to be polished, clean port side of the engine bay, repaint oil filter housing, refit radiator, refit intake and exhaust manifolds, refit carbs, make carb gaskets (I've never made a gasket in me life, should be easy?)

Looks like my radiator is shot. It's had a couple of JB Weld sessions in the past. Any recommendations to find a new one here?

Not thinking of making one until maybe next year.
Currently all monies are being diverted into a Hayabusa fund.
