Sunroofs suck. They always leak and create more rust issues down the track. My 2c.

Yeah definitely, normally I’d agree if it was a car I wanted to be tidy and nice.

but this thing I want to be as rough and mongrel as it can be, and I kinda enjoyed the old manual wind back sunroof in what it came out of. And it’s free and period correct

  2. Hey so I’ve got an old retro fit aftermarket sunroof I’ve acquired.

one of of those DIY types they sold at super cheap in the early 90’s

vehicle in question is going though cert at some point.

where I want to put it there is a U channel bit that travels though the middle of where the cut out would be.

can I cut it? If I needed to add steel would it need engineers report or something?

just gauging if it’s gonna be a pain in the ass or not

  3. Had some free time over lock down and burnt so rods in my safety boots

Good to get some practice in cause I’m average at best. Got a couple runs where the slagged popped up in one piece so that was cool

been needing a coffee table for a while and had the idea of making one that can slide under the sofa so can be a side table too.

fits and works well. Just a tad tall because it needs to clear sofa seat hight. Had the idea of doing a stained pine lam top same as the dinning table so it ties in together but I kinda want to get some glass cut for the top. Help keep the open look. We’ll see

pretty strong too, can put most of my +100kg weight before is starts to bend. Just bloody heavy is all

Looking good, recommend learning how to use a router and giving laminated ply a go. very on trend lol. about $120 for a sheet, not bad IMO. Flip with a router you can make so many things!

I just made this from scratch (Stripped the room bare), learning how to router on the job. Don't recommend Bunnings ply!

GIB plastering isn't all that difficult either.

I’m needing to do a wardrobe soon. Where did you get the draws and sliders from?

  5. Managed to actually find time to do some more on the house!

was on the hunt for a large mirror for the bathroom try make it feel a bit bigger then it is.

also, so miss’ can do her makeup while im shaving my head haha

turns out trying to find something was a mish, even free standing to turn sideways was a mission or they wanted stupid money.

went to an art framing place, old boy said he’d do me a solid and with frame and mirror in size I wanted for 800 cash :compress:

flagging that, found a place called cosmo glass, small family business.

    picked up a 1600x700 mirror for $200

spent a bit doing demisting elements behind it

and used some chunky architrave to frame it. Currently staining it like I did the dinning table above, but darker with less grain.

probably cheaper ways to do it, but demisted and that size probably around $400 it’s cost me, so I’m happy with that

plus I got to use my new Milwaukee gasless finishing gun :thumbleft: highly recommended

the commodore alternator vt-vy with the mitsi/hitachi large plug  is the standard sense to battery and light terminal to ignition switched 12v via lamp or simulated resistor, vz ran a different ecu controlled regulator

can probablly  pull some injector data from  an hp tuners file for a commo ls1 if that helps

reverse lockout is simply  a solenoid ign 12v to one side ground switched the other in factory application unlocks under 5kmh , common way  is to  hookup to  brake light circuit so  have to put foot on the brake to  activate the solenoid switching +12v instead of ground

would you know witch colour is witch?

Yeah if you could off HPtuners that would be mint.

yeah I could do a mix of brake light and rpm output from ECU witch should be pretty fail safe.
