Talked to a few people including VTNZ and issue is resolved.
As above replace like for like - was using original mounting points but not like for like. Just rubbed me the wrong way when i was told i would need to go through cert again.
Was a 83 celica.

Failed a Wof today for replacing a rear seatbelt - does this need cert?
In coming yarn - went for a sticker Wof at VTNZ and failed at the start of the year. That's all fine, rectified everything, and went through cert. All good.
Went back past the 28 days knowing its not a recheck so have to pay again, may pick a small thing up here and there etc. But no apparently i have to go get cert....again.... on a replaced seatbelt?
Guys discussed for 20minutes infront of me because they didn't know, and came to the conclusion because it was imported in 1993 it needs cert? (built in 83)?
Any help on this would be awesome.

This thread hits close to home
Currently looking to buy a turbo 90s vehicle. Prices have gone crazy since i first set a target in 2019. But it is people like me chasing the dream to own one before they become unattainable, bumping prices.
At the end of the day they aren't making any more and there are many valid reasons already discussed why prices are going up. house prices as discussed, no one travelling because of covid, usa 25 year rule etc.
Agree, Falcons, Commodores, RX8, Altezza, will be the next lot to go up in price.
As for current market the likes of GTRs, S15, JZX100, will continue to jump in price as America didn't get them - and they are either buying now or storing ready for import in a few years. Wouldn't be surprised to se S15s worth 60-70k in the next 2 years - look at what happened to RX7s.

I love this build - nothing untouched. Where did you pick that dual rear stainless muffler up from?

Green sticker Wof - Car has been stickered for being to loud. Does the "modified exhaust" need to be certified, or can i just make it quite and its algood? Or does it need to be the stock exhaust?

Thanks for clarifying, thats what i thought. The car that was on hold till December only cos $26 to reg for 12 months (till April 2021) and the other car that was on hold till next month cost $110. Both cars are 1982 so i am curious how it worked that out.

This would have been asked before but If your vehicle is on hold till December say, and you put 12 months Rego on it. Do you get the rego from the day you buy it or is it still technically on hold until December?
