Yeah so I bought another set of rims, been looking for some Hayashi Street fins for a while and found out that Joe (Goat) had some laying around that he wasn't using. Even sent them up for free, true gc.
Anyway, before:
And after:
Running 195/60 on 6jjx14 with +7 offset. Do you guys think I'll have guard rubbing problems if I run 2" blocks in the rear and lowered springs in the front?
Now just need to get all the body the same colour, and maybe some centre caps (if anyone knows of any send me a PM).

Bought some roof racks from trademe a while back, the guy said they were from a ke70 wagon.
They require holes to fit in the roof, so I assume I'd have to remove the ceiling and the drill some holes and fit them on... Problem being is that I'm scared that I'll dent teh roof if I actually mount them on the car. I've seen roof racks mounted before on ke70 wagons (same type):
So it's been done before... Just want some opinions on what to do to stop my roof from caving in. My dad says that my Simca actually has reinforcements built into the roof to fit the roof rack.
Also, anyone know where to get the protective strips that run along the roof of the car underneath the roof rack to prevent scratches? I'm not sure the name of them, but I imagine any generic ones might fit.

I use 3ds max for 3d modeling but it's got a steep learning curve and is also not free, unless you get a student licence.

Just wondering why get a T50 from Japan? If you are going to get it rebuilt anyway wouldn't it be cheaper to just find one in NZ?

I tried googling some of the lyrics but there seems to be nothing that has all 3 lyrics. or even just 2.

oh please explain further about repair cert?
According to the AA guy, any car that has been deregistered by an insurance company has to get a repair certification, unless it wasn't damaged but rather written off for something else (like it being stolen or something).
-
Alright more money than I wanted to spend later and I finally got the car revinned. Although I thought I didn't have to get a repair cert, I still had to due to the nature of why it was deregistered.
Anyway, other than that everything was fine (headlights still need to be adjusted but no one noticed).

Am I doing this right??

Pay someone going over there to bring them back in suitcases. Mate of mine bought new a set from rimmer brothers (British parts) home as excess baggage in 2 of the cheapest suitcases he could find.
If you can get a mate to make a box or something you wouldn't even need a suitcase. We took a replacement sill for my dad's Simca (amongst other things) with us on the plane back from Holland no problems. I don't even think we had to pay extra for oversized luggage.

I couldn't be bothered to photoshop the entire parking metre.

People always going round saying America is fucked, no way. Australia, you cunts are fucked.
Americans have like, 0 rules for cars. No inspections or anything, shit.

How could anyone destroy such a nice house?
I mean, it was an old house, but I wouldn't say it was exactly pleasant to look at or anything. He's replacing it with a bigger and better house anyway.
I reckon episode 3 was the strongest so far. Hammond with the Hellcat was actually funny. Obviously they knew he was coming and I don't really know why they didn't mention it from the start, the joke about them not knowing fell a bit flat with me. The rest of the segment was all pretty funny though. The wrecking of the house was funny enough for me and although it was probably a bit scripted I found it to be pretty good.
Episode 2 was the weakest link. It was repetitive and felt way too forced and scripted. I reckon they should've at least once given the course a real shot, as the scriptedness of the whole thing was out of control and made it very unfunny. There was practically no real car stuff which is what made the scripted stuff stand out like a sore thumb, as usually it's disguised by car stuff. Top Gear was always a bit scripted but this took it to a new level.
Episode 1 was alright for them getting back into the show. The intro was a bit long and dragged out yeah but I mean, it's nice to see them back together again. Some people don't really like the supercar stuff. Personally I'm not really a supercar person as I know that I'll never really actually own one and so I guess it'll never apply to me. It was, however, what they were working on before the end of Top Gear and so it was good to finally have some closure though.
The brain tease thing is getting a bit old, and I hope they realise that soon enough. I get that they're just revving the BBC up as they can't really do the "star in a reasonably priced car" anymore. The reasonably priced car thing wasn't really my favourite thing anyway, usually it was just famous people that I had never heard of talking about their new show that I didn't care about. Sometimes they had some cool people on though I guess. Them making fun of the locals is also a bit forced, many of the jokes are mediocre at best. They are car show presenters, not stand-up comedians. The American is unfunny and all his jokes are boring, I liked the Stig because he just did the lap and got it over with. Obviously they wanted the same effect as the Stig learning how to say "Donde esta la biblioteca" in Spanish while driving, but the jokes are all bland and focused at us, rather than at the driver (it sounds weird but I don't really know how to word it).
I was expecting it to be a lot more like the specials though, or the cheap car challenges and shit. Which was honestly what the trio excelled at. They had a 3 million quid budget per episode and although yes, the cinematography is excellent and all of the shots look excellent I was expecting more from the content than what we've seen so far. I reckon we're too early on to make any assumptions that this is what the rest of the season is going to be like. I hope that later on in the season they will actually do more road trip shit, living up to the name "the Grand Tour"

Ahh shit, my car's been vandalised:

It turns out it wasn't even blocked, I am the worlds worst detective. The scuttle grille was in the way slightly and I just had to judge the nozzle over slightly with a screwdriver.

Ha, didn't realise they were meant to be hidden. Connected a new tube (old one got ripped out) and all goods. One of them's clogged but should be fine.
Thanks.

So I'm going to get the ke70 registered soon, and I have no idea if there is meant to be a windshield sprayer nozzle at the front. It doesn't seem to be there. Does it have to be there?

After a hard day's observing stacked British cars at the aptly named British Car Museum in the Hawkes Bay, it was time to head to Napier for curried sustenance, upon which I spotted smitty's fine Simca wag:
Then, just round the corner was this winner-mobile:
Ha, I saw you take a picture of the Avenger out front of Indigo. I do deliveries for them and that's the car of my friend who was also on that night.

Apparently this actually raced in the Le Mans

That's not a particularly clever business plan.
It's useful for other purposes too, like drawings or 3d models of cars...

You should release this as a font.

That is actually partially in the spreadsheet.
FF405 was used for the filming of the screentime segment on TV. The guy and his car just one day up and disappeared, never to be seen again. I think if you go far enough back on the forums you can find that one of the researchers from the show asked here on the forum if anyone had any info on the car.

So I bought stuff!
Money I should have spent on registration stuff or maybe Uni I spent on rims.
Still need to polish the barrel a bit and buy hub-centric rings but other than that should be sweet. Also maybe centre caps, but I might have a try at 3d printing some.
Also all of the wiring is now working including lights, indicators and horn. They just need to be aimed properly:

dont they required shank nuts?
I'm an idiot aren't I? Oh well, guess you learn new things every day.

Bought some Cheviot mesh wheels from Blizzo. Nice wheels, will have to give them a bit of a tidy up but nothing too major.
Only problem is that the ke70s wheel studs are too short to fit the wheels on. So this leaves me with three options:
Option 1: Extended lug nuts. This seems like the simplest option but I have no idea if it will actually fit between the wheels.
Option 2: Extended Lugs. This actually seems like the best option in terms of durability and safety. It will definitely work which is good. It's just that at 10 per lug it'll soon reach 160 dollars for the entire car and I just wanted cheap rims. Not a big hassle added price tag.
Option 3: Wheel spacers. Also not really that cheap but should probably work.
Of course I could sell the rims and buy different ones but don't really want it to get to that.
So what should I do? If anyone has any ideas then please feel free to post.
