I picked up some wheels from Jessie on here, I just couldn't say no! the tyres were the complete wrong size but I rocked them anyway for a few months, 14x7et8 Watanabes. I really liked the small wheels on the Z, just needed some fat meaty tyres for the 70's racecar vibe. Went out for a photoshoot with a good friend of mine, lucky we finished shooting before the fuel pump decided to stop pumping!
The sagging 50 year old rear springs are greatly exaggerated by the small stretched front tyres. The whole car sits very nose up, will need to be sorted. Its a tough balance between wanting to keep the car original, vs wanting to slightly modify and make the car 'mine'

Maybe try some museums / private collections and see if they want a sweet old unmolested Datsun in the mix?
Wow, yea I had not though of that. I will get on to that ASAP. I am a member of the ZCLUB, and I know they are often doing events to car museums around NZ so I shall ask them.
Thanks for that guys!

We could probably fit you into our shed at Matangi (near hamilton). We could shoehorn it in the corner where Yowzer's crown used to live. $17 per week.
Thanks for the option mate, I will be in touch!
My Storage King unit is $3488 for a year. It's quite a lot bigger than a car but not quite big enough for two cars. Weirdly, it was cheaper than the next size down.
Yea these are the sorts of prices I have come across.. thats 7k by the time I get back, its going to hurt my account bad while im studying. But it is a fuck tone better option than selling!

I would imagine if you wanted cheaper secure storage that it would be far more economical to bring it too a cheaper town where storage is cheaper. Something like wanganui etc that still has good secured alamed storage places
Yea Im happy to pretty much drive the car anywhere in the Island as long as I can guarantee its safety!

Coventry Motors LTD.
09-4431966.
21 Porana Road, Glenfield/ Wairau valley.
Like Chris said, you'll see the Coventry sign/ BOC gas sign and its waaaay up the back, two level building. We see heaps of choice cars boosting up and down there all the time.
Thanks for this! I will give them a call and discuss! Thank you!
I'd be super paranoid about using a random storage place. Make sure it's insured to buggery whatever you do and that the insurance is aware of the scenario.
Yea Im very nervous about what todo, I am going to phone the insurance company today and discuss my options with them.
If you get really pressed and don't mind driving it down south, I could tuck it in the back of my shed for you.
Wow, that is an incredible offer! Could be an excuse for an epic trip south for those last memories before I have to pack it away...

Hi Guys,
I am moving to Denmark in August for two years to study (had enough of working!) haha.
I need to find somewhere to store my beloved 240z, Has to be fully enclosed storage for around 2 years. could potentially move it after one year though. What are my options? anyone had to do this sort of horrible thing before?
I have been looking on trademe and I could possibly buy a 20ft container, Then I just have to find somewhere to put a container?
Anyone used any good car storage places that dont cost the earth? Or anyone have a farm house that I could possibly pay you a rental fee?
Just looking for options.. Cheers! heres a pic because Im sad my car has to be locked up

Fuck small disaster! nothing car related but im not going to be able to make it... really gutted Hopefully meet you all next month.

The only thing I would change is make them a shade of charcoal instead of the black, otherwise they look really good.
They actually are charcoal, just the harsh lighting when I took the photo made them come out black,, Will just re edit the photos to show the charcoal... But thanks!

Took the Z to a few car shows with the Z Club around Auckland, was nice showing off the Z. Won a few trophies within the Z club which was cool!
Not allowed to open my bonnet because its 50 years of filth under there! When I originally took ownership of this car, I have to admit, I knew very little about it. Its history, the L24 power-plant or any understanding of its relevance in the Japanese sports car world. I was a diehard bimmer fanboy from my early teens, though the more research I've done, Ive fell completely in love with the story and the significance of this car.

14 look very stock which can be a good thing. Right now im just going to wait and see what I find. Suspension is first on my list.
There is also the Enkei Compe that come in 15x8 et0 they have no dish like watanabe though...

hes had some pretty fucking rad builds over the years. Dropping a m60 in a model a was probably my favourite, specially when he through the mud slingers on it.
