  1. Loom is back and nearly in! BCs have arrived and are off to Surfab tomorrow to get welded up. Old set of C type SSR MK3s are currently with Aidan at Pine Engineering getting turNed into something crazy. Exhaust and cert and I should be done, for the time being..
  2. Lists short, very short. Centre console was an off brown to my interior, wasnt happy with it, managed to find locate one the same colour locally (NZ) thanks to an RS fella. Accelerator cable was a C word. X6 and X7 mount differently through the firewall, couldnt get a twincam X6 one anywhere so ended up getting the firewall mounts swapped from my stock X6 cable onto a twincam X7 cable, works a treat. Wiring is near finished and will be back down with me soon! As soon as its running I have to sort out power steering pump location, sort belt, alloy scrape plates, few other minor bits and bobs. Theeeen just exhaust! It's all there would just rather it be running before I take it in. After it's running ill sort getting it a WoF before I get onto adjustable suspension!
  3. Got a flange made to suit the Trust headers, 2 collectors and a single Chase resonator. Plan on going headers - 2 - 1 - resonator (under drives seat area) - 2 all the way back. All 1.5" stainless. Think ill put a couple of V band clamps at the end so I can swap in a muffler if need be.

  5. Finally getting somewhere with it.. Couldnt believe my luck with the headers haha.
  6. So im finally making finishing progress! Wiring is away getting done atm (Worked out easier / cheaper to send the looms to someone that's done the swap up North than find someone local) Just scored some brand new Trust headers fairly locally for cheap! (cheaper than through Yahoo anyway) Time to get it to the exhaust shop... Then fork out for BC's and it's ready for cert. Fun times.
  7. Ive been pretty slack... But my engine/gearbox are in and ready to be wired up. Gearbox ended up being a W58 which is an added bonus. Anyone know any local (dunedin or around) auto sparkys interested in wiring it up?
  8. Progress has been slow.. How ever, I picked up this 150*** kms 1GGE last night, proof of and a video running prior to removal. Just waiting on the W55 to arrive and a bunch of parts from Toyota. Oh and I need to find a driveshaft still.. Also stripped down my first pair of 9s, polished, centres repainted and got new hardware, changed tyres to 185/55 too. Realistically ill never be low enough to pull off the T1r's / Wont be certifying it on the 9's anyway. Oh, and bought a $800 hack van, best car related decision ive made!
  9. So.. Because of this bike ive become quite obsessed with 50cc 2 strokes. Bought Rickees Yamaha Y5 and was donated a couple of V50's in various states from Lewis. Do not plan to do anything else to the Yamaha other than tidy up what's there. I'll edit this and include V50 build too
  10. So.. Bike is complete.. For the time being. Off to see Jonny next week to tune her up + Pick up Rickees old Yamaha F5 to add to my collection.
  11. Photo shoot. Now to find another pair of 225/40s for the front.
  12. Toyos fitted. 225/40s are perfect in the rear, slight roll after I do the camber mod to the rear subframe and we should be good. Yeah.
  13. Alright.. This is no longer a daily so work can finally begin. I had another pair of SSR Formula Mesh widened. (Thanks to Pine Engineering) These are 14x9 -18. They make my other pair look so much worse than they are haha. Also acquired a set of centre caps, have new SSR stickers coming for them too.
  14. Alright.. Engine has been started, seems very happy. Have skipped the ignition completely, is all off a switch now. Mainly because my electrical knowledge is zilch. Works well though, is tidy and hidden. Am now awaiting fuel tank, new expansion chamber and side number plate mount / brake light to arrive then she's ready to start! Impatiently waiting.. haha. And picture wont show from the last post. Have just obtained some printable patch material. Time to print some ridiculous patches.
  15. Engine back and fitted up. Unfortunately I didnt check my fuel tank, I have a POR15 internal restore kit coming! Then Ill fire it up and finish the wiring. Did this though. Need more patches but yeah. \

  17. Since then i havent done an awful lot.. Engine is ready and waiting for me, heading to pick it up in 2 weeks, hopefully get an expansion chamber made up soon after.
  18. The stack of new bits grew each day. By this time Jonny had the engine, pulled it apart, the piston broke into 4 pieces whilst being removed.. Yeah.. Oh and a missing ring.. Other than that, it was a fairly clean engine.
  19. Mocked up what I had done so far with the F*&cked engine. Decided I wasnt a fan of the pit bike muffler. So set out to find a stock one until i get an expansion chamber made. Found a headlight unit that I was happy enough with. Really wanted a rough old headlight but nothing came up.
  20. Picked up this other A50 off Zeb for a steal. Engine was pretty well rooted, but still in better condition than what I had. Used a few bits and pieces off it throughout the build. Not long after I sent the engine up to Jonny to get some work done, nothing extensive, just a rebuild, oversized piston.
  21. Fitted up the clip ons along with some new gold/glitter hand grips. Also left the tank outside for a week, rust begins to form! Sprayed the frame with some POR15, great product.
  22. Sent my cut up seat base away to Lewis at Horrell Performance and Design. He did such a bloody good job! Swapped a bunch of my stock bits I didnt need (guards, lights etc) for a shaved top mount and some clip on bars! All thanks to Jonny Brasell.
  23. First I wanted the rear a fair bit lower. Found some cheap pit bike shocks on Tardme. Cost about $40 for the pair landed. Fitted up well with little modifications needs.
