When you have decided on what project you want to do.Get the best car you can afford, its cheaper to buy something that someone has either looked after or spent the time and money getting it almost to what you want to achieve this way your not biting off more than you can chew on your first attempt

I have part of a packet of eutectic rods they are used for dissimilar metals but are great for cast iron welded up a few manifolds
If you want to weld it your self
I remember they cost a fortune per rod 25 plus years ago when I brought them

Twin stick was a f##k up had a international 210 with twin Spicer boxes impossible to down shift ,if you got it right before you slowed to a stop then you made some nasty noises as the gears meshed unlike the roadranger which in essence is a twin box in one front box is just a crash 5 or 6 speed and a syncro rear box6x4 with two speed diff - probably actually has a divorced overdrive box thing in the main driveshaft.
twin stick shouldn't be too hard to master!

Sadly I want to sell it as soon as it's back together. I would like to use the money on the other cars, plus another trip to the States later this year.
Selling the HQ will allow me to potentially bring back an American vehicle too.
I hope its a pick up so you can ship back all the goodies in the tray that I might need

And if the weather is shot will there be a alternative
On a different note I might use it as a excuse to fire up the old 4x4 and trundle it down to the beach its been sitting that long the gear linkage was frozen

Or run the mig on the insert the heat will distort the steel standard practice to remove bearings out of housings
-
Wait till your Mrs is out put it in the oven at about 150 let it soak the heat the alloy expands at many times the rate of steel take it out and punch it out
That's how we used to do the bronze valve guides on out triumph bikes back in the day when apprentices
I think we used to put the guides in the freezer when putting them in
