Keeping the black vfiddy. Legit as fuck..... sorta

All registered which was way easier than expected. $78 bucks with 6 months reg which was sick

Needs a couple of things to get it "safer"
:Head light and tail light arn't working atm
    :Needs a tune, badly
:Throttle/brake assembly twists around on the handlebars so has a cable tie fix
    :Tires are backwards
:Fuel tap has a slight leak

But atleast it has a loud as balls expansion pipe and a suicide shifter so that redeems everything on the list. GG

    More pics

  2. Decided to sell both the black and the blue v50. I no longer have the same interest as I once did with these and I have too many other things on the go right now.

Will post in the for sale section outlining what you get.

    Cheers

  3. Man this makes want to actually pull finger and get mine registered haha. This is going to be pretty bloody rad when its complete.

Think I may have to get myself one of those exhausts too. Are they available only somewhere?

  4. Im so bloody lazy

Plan confirmed... Remove engine from black v50. Install into blue v50 with new barrell, piston and head, take old engine and semi assemble it and install into black v50, go to vtnz and register the blue v50 and "attempt" to register the black one but all I have is a frame number and no previous owner details. All going well il have two v50's all legit.

PS the expansion pipe is soooo fucking loud its awesome hahah

  5. So I bought a second v50.... yeeeaaaah. Havent got around to putting a stud in the current engine and got bloody sick of walking into the garage and seeing it there not in use. Will put up some pics of the new purchase tomorrow after work when theres day light.

The plan now is to take the engine in the "new" v50 put and into my current v50, get it running and registered and use it as a nice weather daily cruiser. Other v50 will be my experimental bike for trying out different customizations and what not.

Will be all running and legal by the end of the month. (I promise haha)

Why do aussie's have such a hard on for massive ride height, tubbed rears and 17 inch+ simmons wheels?

Then again they must think we are weird for having modgies wrapped in eagers, slammed with overfenders and dumpy exhaust pipes hahaha

  7. Putting this up on behalf

My mate has a 1986 Honda VF1000R, has the original 4 digit black plate and hasnt been on the road since the 90's, was inherited off his uncle who passed on so has sentimental value, plan is to restore it back to its former glory as it is a tad rough but only because its been parked up for so long. He loves his motorbikes but doesnt want to fix it himself as he doesnt have the space to have it sprawled across the garage and has limited skills currently.

Was wondering who the best person in christchurch would be to take down to every nut and bolt and rebuild it. He is willing to spend reasonable money so long as its quality workmanship, he may consider the rest of the country if its worth it.

    Cheers

  8. Dad used to own a 12a front RX3 and then a poo brown RX4 sedan which i came home in the day I was born haha, His first car was a Mini thou I think

Mum used to have Mark 2 Cortina and her first car was an early rwd corolla (cant remember exact era)

think theres more on list so il hunt through the photos and see what I can dig up  :)

  9. At this stage I am keeping the aristo purely cause ive put money into getting it running again so it would be stupid to not drive it for a little bit, It will also be an experiment to see whether i can afford to run it.

I will keep an eye out on trademe and other places cause you never know what might come up. So far a mark 4 or 5 cortina seems like the go in terms of affordability and the amount that are around, if I can find an old Datsun or Toyota that seems fairly solid that would be great but Im assuming thats gonna be a bit of a hunt. Vauxhall chevette or viva (maybe a victor?) would be next on the list.

Thank you to everyone for your input and advice :-) this is such a great community on here, il be sure to follow it and maybe soon il have a "build thread" on my new ride. Until then I have found that the aristo needs a new radiator so yeah haha

    Cheers everyone

  10. Im open to anything really (sorry its not very specific) but maybe not a panel van or ute and not so much 80's styling but again i'm open to anything at the moment.

So far Ive got cortina, mostly anything toyota, have seen a few lancers but all look a bit dodgy. Will keep searching

  11. Yeah I have seen a few cortinas up for sale and a really tempted. Dunno if i can afford to travel to auks to get yours though haha

Also I work at a panel shop so paint aint really a problem, would be good practice aswell.

Can deal with rust so long as its not structual and won't affect getting a wof.

  12. Sorry shouldve given more details. Will be my daily vehicle so it cant e jacked every weekend to fix something, in saying that im not afraid to put in any work as im fairly mechanically minded. Prefer something under 2000cc but can go a little over and would rather a manual than an auto.
