Some more recent finds from around Christchurch/Canterbury
Exceptionally dead early Mazda B-Series, Mk2 Triumph and ancient Austin van thing surprisingly close to a reasonably busy Christchurch road actually.
]
XY Falcon + others well off the beaten track
XA Falcon and Chevette
Extremely rusty Mini (and a bit of a Minor), plus a bizarre tug of some kind?
Scrap bikes
Corona (there was a Datsun 720 and several Mirage Turbos here too)
BMC van in the literal middle of nowhere
Dead PB Velox
And lastly, left to rot in Hawaii - Lincoln Versailles in a seriously dodgy area (only photo I could get!)

Haha, those are nicely done cars. I need to get the bumpers sorted as in the pic you can see the front one has faded badly (it's also cracked.) Normally I would leave bodywork well alone as I prefer the worn, used look but in this case the bumper has faded so badly that it's the first I notice when I look at the car and I feel it cheapens the look rather than add to it. The back bumper will just need sanding.

This is amazing, I've never seen any of these Simcas before. Bravo for the original standard look!

Discussion for the Corona coupe, would love to know about any others in NZ. Compared to the Celica there are far fewer photos and much less info on the Internet about them. Cheers!

Hi everyone, you may remember me as the Flickr photographer with the brown Fiat 128 who posts on here sporadically. Unfortunately the 128 will be sold soon due to rust issues I can't/am loathe to fix. As a replacement I have gone JDM and bought something I don't recall ever seeing another example of (something I couldn't say about the 128!)
It's a 1987 Toyota Corona 2.0 VX Coupe, ST162 model, which is basically a Celica notchback sold only in Japan to continue the line of Corona coupes that had always run alongside the Celica. For some reason Toyota Japan decided that the only Celica badged models they were going to sell in the JDM for this generation were the liftback and convertible. It was imported in 1994 and has only done 196,000 kms from new.

I have also been into the Old West Coast Rd place. The Google Earth shot is fairly recent, when I was there in 2012 that back paddock was full. He was happy to let me have a wander around and didn't seem like the trigger happy type but shortly afterwards, a friend went past and said there was a sign saying 'Turn around and go back the way you came.' I've not been back...
joshd231 is right, he has (or had) lots of Mk3 and Mk5 Cortinas, Jaguars, Princesses, and an absurd amount of Landcrabs. I remember a very straight RT80 Corona too.

I'm sure I saw a picture of that place with the Chevettes taken from a hot air balloon a while back!
Been a while since I last posted so here's a few recent (and not so recent) ones:

The last one focused on the tree, rather than the car unfortunately.

I think the Ford is a Twin Spinner (CarJam says just 'Custom'). It was re-registered in 2000 and doesn't appear to have been on the road any longer than a couple of months before being laid up. There was also another identical black Spinner a metres across the yard that looked to be in marginally better condition.
Some more from about the place, though some photos are 2-3 years old:
I couldn't quite believe my eyes with this one:
Wonder how much this is worth even in this state.

Hi everyone,
I'm Riley and I'm 15 yrs old, currently restoring a '78 Fiat in time for my 16th when I can go for my license and actually drive it.
I've loved cars all my life and have spent the last couple of years car spotting for my Flickr page:

Nice to have you on here man. You do some serious spotting, I expect this thread will fill up fast.
Thanks! I would prefer to repost the photos themselves on here rather than link them to my Flickr. Do you know how to do that?

A couple of derelict cars. 411 'bird is in deepest North Canterbury and Morris/Triumph in Timaru.
