man so much pine (literally) over your acreage
amazing amount of effort put in. definitely living the dream!
would be an ideal little bed n breakfast type arrangement, for punters wanting to re-live the pioneer experience such as yourself

pls resched dolan or come cruise to reefton so I can participate

+1 for tz700's, $110 for a new one fitted, can't go wrong

nice score on that 535! I saw it on trademe (if im thinking of the same one) and damn that was good buying.
any plans for the shell? Im keen on some small trim bits if she's headed to a wreckers -
good, good. yeah my fz was the same, my record was about 55km/h no mods and a whole lot of weight reduction. even rarer of the F series is the FY50, never seen one in nz tho.
those wheels look similar to the Honda chaly wheels, are they three piece? you should look at yahoo jp auctions for some wide wheels, come in sweet sizes- 1

nice score! what are your plans for this? restore or rat it out? I had a chance to buy one of these from a local scooter mechanic but it needed too much work and parts were hard to source.
do these have the two speed g box?- 1

Olds Cool Autos here in p norf has a 'running' engine for sale for around $200 mark if that suits anyone

glad I put that bike into the right set of hands! did you get around to replacing the kickstart spring? looks very good

TMC on here is your man. you can find the dimensions online. you wont regret the ring dings

yup, these bikes use the battery as a regulator so a new battery will help. id also recommend trying bulbs with a slightly higher wattage, the light is dimmer but stops them from blowing. allowing for maximum maintenance-free commuter speccing.
this threads looking like an AGM of the AX100 owners committee!

this is awesome, what is the title/where can I cop one
-
yeah as above, stick to the basics with these things, good spark and a clean carb are usually all they need. we run the 6.5hp gx's at my work (indoor kart track) and they never give up. also maybe a bit of jump start or lynx down the carb doesn't go astray
-
whats your method for cracking them? the ol' heat gun and a rubber mallet get up?

I enjoy this. wheels on the silver one look super lush. perhaps I should start collecting e34's and establish a marina in my front yard

ITT: shitty landlords
the main obligation of a tenant, other than paying rent, is keeping the property in a state of tidiness and in good repair. obviously landlord is assuming the worst of working on a car in the premises, therefore not allowing it at all.
there really isn't much in the RTA about specifications in the agreement, mostly just shit about no wild parties. therefore if OP wanted he could pose an argument saying he'd lay down a floor covering, at his expense, to reduce the mess or something along those lines. the landlord might be a dick about it and say no, or he might consider that there's more to life than preserving the condition of a concrete floor in a bland, modern townhouse and let you store the car in the garage.
at the end of the day i suppose he is just taking every measure he can to protect his investment, but just being a tad difficult/sorry for spam, i bid you fortuitous conclusions in your hunt for a storage space otherwise

this thing will be a wheelie machine! any ideas for how youre gonna set up the shifter?

A) rubber seal on the top/lid of the slide had fallen out, so the spring was hooked on the lip where it threads into the carb, which explains the rough twisting.
yup slide was caught on the spigot thing, flipped it round and she was mint.
thanks for guidance.

I thought it was that too, cos it can slide in with cable facing forwards or facing the back. I tried both ways and made no difference. pushed down with a lil screwdriver as far as I could.
the throttle feels quite rough to pull, maybe the spring is rinsed..? -
didn't think it was necessary to start a new fred and my bike is 2 stroke so...
I lowered the needle 1 clip on my ax100 (mikuni...? 20mm carb). needle had 5 slots, I went from 3rd to 4th clip.
put the diaphragm and throttle slide back together and the bike wouldn't turn over. put it back to 3rd clip and ran fine. thought I might have put the spring in wrong and the slide wasn't lifting. so I tried again, put needle back to 4th clip and now it idles at full throttle. jesus. put it back to 3rd clip, and it still does! when I pulled it up the first time I noticed the throttle cable end wasn't slotted in the slide properly, fixed that, but still idles at WOT. didn't let it run for very long as neighbours asleep and all that jazz. adjusting idle screw didn't do anything.
any ideas?? I am stumped. haven't changed anything else in the carb. -
don't have a lot of room to shorten shocks as the wheel bottoms out on the seat sometimes but could stiffen them up for less travel I spose. would nylon do the trick?
-
due to exams and shit weather this thing has been gathering dust, but also brainstorming for future mods to improve its handling. would love to take this thing out on the track at a Central Districts M/C club day or even OS nats..
1) huge tyres look rad but handle like a bag of donkey dicks round corners, so probs gonna downsize to 2.75 all round or 3" on the back.
2) stiffer suspension, old bikes of this era are notorious for super floaty suspension, is there a way to stiffen the rear shocks or like a pitbike equivalent for twin shock bikes?
3) disc brake conversion would be tits, an RD50 or RX125 might be a good donor, need to look into whether I need the entire front end or I can whip up a mount on the existing front wheel and forks. GP100 owners, can I get a pic of the disc brake setup and perhaps try to copy?
any info/experience would be greatly appreciated from my fellow ring ding enthusiasts!
