Good write up
Thanks very much for taking the time.
I think to your final 3 questions you'd have different answers had it been for something you cannot buy, or cannot afford to buy but can do so this way?
So to underline your problem, 1999 Subaru Lancaster wagon.
We're all super pleased that the visit to VTNZ went well, I'm pretty sure all of us cringed when we read those dreaded capital letters!

When I worked at autoterminal I'd see tonnes of em come in with them on, saw plenty on yards for sale too. And you know some dipshit is going to drive around with them on until they've fallen apart!
-
Don't say that here the V endorsement comments will start coming.
As long as the client isn't riding with you I think you're ok!
-
I've been looking at similar things.
And I've found for every opinion there is a counter opinion. Dang it.
It's hard to even get a grip on which way opposing opinions are swaying!
Read the guff on POR 15 and then priming that and spraying over bed liner etc.
And then I've decided that I'm pretty much going to leave it all the fuck alone for now because underbody prep sucks
Do you have kevlar wear plates in the areas of high abrasion?
-
I may be setting up a laser cutting website as a client of mine has one and it will be running when he finds some more space! So not engraving etc but steel cut/supply for uploaded files (engine mounts etc)
I have a router and laser guy in Auckland if that suits, pm for deets.

ill put the swap suggestion in the "maybe" pile.
and regarding wrapping the bumpers, i thought about it but it was either paint them of get them re-chromed properly and i cant afford to get them chromed so paint it is.
Proper chrome wrap vinyl is HELLA EXPENSIVE as well.
I shouldn't say such things but PAINT ALL THE THINGS!!!!!

More likely to borrow an old lady than a motorcycle!!!! Haha
Last time I lent my bike it came back in pieces! And the piss wizard didn't cop up a dime to get her fixed up.
Hope you nab a ride, temperature is good atm, my soft contis are working really well! Good bit of rain after the main crowds to wash the roads down too
Happy motoring!

I was about to say the same thing rookie

Keep the 250
Check all rubbers and seals.
Measure jets. New filters and oil. Have a poke at the cdi pickup and see if it has been modified (location) Test coils if possible. Clean those plugs.
Add gas.
Bullet proof internals she'll be right!
-
Jets. You need MORE of it. And probably play with timing which is HARD on those little beasties. And change lines to make sure they can withstand ethanol.
Bugger that just get avgas.
Would love to know the actual dicking that has been done to your engine
-
If it goes through its resistance range when you put it in hot water I'd assume the in between temps are also working.
Hopw a new one sorts it
-
As a cosworth owner he'll have the ohm range tattooed on him somewhere

-
If you find its dicked and can't get a replacement then find what the ohms should be and get creative with some resistors
-
Just test the sensor homes.
Remove. Set multimeter to ohms measure.
Put in hot water. Measure.

What did you get?
I was supposed to get myself one for Xmas but I'm still working
-
Scratch both them.
One doesn't have shim stock and the other doesn't want to.
Mate gave me the "arrrgh fecking shims" rundown.(though he's fully capable) Hahaha.
