Been a long time since I have been to the Braeburn and Matakitaki, I did quite a bit of clear felling under the new transmission line we were building through their and it was the roads used in the last NZ International Rally to be run in the South Island, we sat on the Inter 4x4 and watched them them going through.
I am keen on this one, might have to find some dual purpose style tires for one of my 150's.
I also have a Holden Ute with a towbar if needed for backup although the LS1 will chew through a bit of juice.

Suzuki RG150 2 stroke - runs sweet and I will put it back on the street soon as last reg'd 2014
My other RG150 which I just got a new WOF has 75,000+ on the dial. 2 Stroke reliability and only driven gently by all the previous owners

I am a recent farmbike convert with this AG200 that needs some TLC. I did enough to ride it and now it's my rod holder.
The chain was semi-seized and I have oiled the kinks out and adjusted the back wheel to take the new slack out of it. The rear swingarm bushes are a bit knackered but will do for what I use it for, the front chatters a bit and the clutch will slip if loaded in the higher gears but I doubt I will wear it out as probably won't do more than 50kms a year.
Things I like most, comfortable seat, low 1 & 2 gears, good lock to lock so great on tight bush tracks, kickstand on both sides, and the low down torque.

Yea I was like geez these almost never come up, not an affordable one that is on the road.
Left chch 11pm, cruised down had some breakfast in Inver had a chat and loaded it on, had a coffee and another chat and drove back in time for dinner.
Triple 2 strokes have such a unique growl, I love them. I took it out today and after fuel went on the motorway and literally smoked everyone but by the time I got back home it was running sweet and just a slight bit of blue. I am going to do the same tomorrow to see if it clears sooner.

I just can't stop.... I have 2stroke oil for blood.
It's in well used condition but I call it a long term rideable project. Everything on these costs $$ so i think I will enjoy it a bit before I do anything too much and the motor has only done about 250kms since a major rebuild

Sounds like it may have just been running too oily premix and it goobed up everything. People often tend to put waaaay too much oil in the premix. Sure, you need like 30 or 40:1 at WOT, but the rest of the time you hardly need any.
Flush oil tank and reconnect up the CCI auto oiler. They're great. And don't often give trouble. They put the right amount of oil for the correct revs and throttle position exactly where it needs to go. I love it how a lot of people seem to know more than a team of Japans finest 2 stroke engineers and always seem to disconnect this stuff. CCI is dope.
New piston and rings, and give the barrel a light hone and it will be grouse.
Flush petrol tank and Mix up some 60:1 premix, Get it running on this to confirm that the CCI is working, prime the CCI by holding the CCI throttle on max (it should have a split throttle cable), should be able to see oil moving in the feed lines. DO make sure its pumping though, Years of running with no oil may have killed it...
Cheers, you are so true in everything there, and I will add that the piston is so caked in carbon on the skirt it was picking up oil like a cat's tongue and spraying it everywhere, possibly the only reason it has compression.
I found often that people think 2strokes should be smoking so turn the oil up, but a good 2 stroke shouldn't smoke naf all once warm and they need revs and this being a farm bike probably idled a ton. I have been riding 2 strokes for 48 years, I bought my first in 1974, an orange A50
This is one bike I won't restore as it shows it's near 40 year working life like a badge of honour, but I will straighten the handlebars

And the other 2 new Suzuki's RV75 VanVan's I have and I am in the middle of painting one, I wouldn't call it restoring but definitely saving. Thank goodness it was surface rust apart from a couple of very small holes where the sand and shit would stick.

No bull, it was mostly engine oil, I could smell concentrated fuel from the tank but this smelled like oil and but it was mixed with the unleaded varnish.
I reckon because it's a rotary valve and the carb being so low the piston was causing a splash when it was going up the liner as it was scaping 90% of it off and that was when the the rotary valve would be open and feeding the crank case vacuum.
I have pulled down and built up heaps of 2strokes and never have I had this, usually the left over fuel solidifies and this bike sat for over 10 years in an open shed until now.
Honestly the carb throat was being flooded with oil and then having the needle lifted so high because someone had it about 15mm open probably because it was the only way it would run. Even the jets were like new from the oil.

I picked a 2 owner 1974 Suzuki TS100 - described as not going for many years.
It has been a farm bike all it's life and came with original black plate and ownership papers and had a cool 12k on the clock.
Talking to the owner and he said it wore out so he put another piston in it and rode until it refused to start but was a bit smokey'
I pulled the side cover off and removed the carb as thought i better check it and found it full of oil, replace the fuel line and added a filter kicked it over and oil kept going into the carb lean the bike over a bit and oil ran out. checked oil level and was about right, plugs were wet and oil soaked. pulled the exhaust off and about 100ml of oil in the exhaust. The Air filter crumbled as well.
lifted the head and barrel and the rings are very worn and the piston was thick with oil. I have pulled down a lot of 2 strokes and this would have to be the most work out one I have found and honestly I have no idea how the heck it was even running. I am hoping that's all it is as the someone had the carb adjusted to about 1/4 throttle and the clutch adjusted and wasn't disengaging. Brakes work good. Bent handlebars, broken speedo and the auto-oiler isn't connected
Ordered the bits I need and park till they arrive, I will order a new seat cover once I have it running and then give it a clean and leave it like it is as I love the look of this 48 year old workhorse

I just work on the principle it should blow blue smoke when cold and when warm hardly anything when you you rev it.

The only thing I found with my RV125 was , it had naf all power in the soft sand so you had to go down the gears and it would bog unless you let the tires right down and rode slowly. I think they would be mint with an RM 125 motor so you could rooster tail it.
But as for coolness goes, it's near the top of the list. I have some mildy chunky 130/90-10 tires coming which are used on some scooters

I hear if you borrow the missus vibrator and and get some CLR and mix it with the recommended water ratio in a plastic bucket, strip carb apart and put bits in along with fresh batteries and when they run out put it back in the top drawer.
Oh yea don't forget to wash it with clean water otherwise you are sprung!

HI, I will be in need of someone who can help me do a restore on a bike which I will be getting delivered soon and by all accounts it has likely been raced and knocked around a bit..
Also the tank was painted but they never matched the original design as it's missing the red on the sides that flow from the front fairing so I want it as factory as I can get it.
I can't wait to start riding it around but to get it repaired will mean I will probably have to park it for a while..
Also it needs a new small section shaped to fit as the storage lid?

South Africa and around 25 or more countries imported Chevrolet badged Holdens from the 60's, I think they were liked in the very hot countries similar to outback Aussie
