  1. So tonight my bud the chap whom painted the car and I made a start. I cleaned the bumpers up and fitted them while he masked up the rear tail lights and gave them a squirt of paint then as drying we fitted all the side lights and headlights, fitted the moulding around door edge, nose cone assembly and some chrome above it. He did some more detailing in the engine bay, then we fitted the boot. Happy with progress so far.
  2. Nice! Good luck with the beast
  3. Cheers bud, what's your project?
  4. Will keep posting as much as I can, a lot happening this week to try and get car on road at end of weekend then go for a wof... Well that's the plan lol
  5. Yeah I'm hearing ya 808, I viewed it tonight and it was stunning just the pearl was out of this world but it didn't photograph at all lol, yeah I've basically resigned to the fact that there's nothing I like in a 15" rim so will be sticking with the modgies. And yeah the savanna tan interior with black trims looks mint and It will grow on me.
  6. Below the engine bay pics show more of a difference in regards to the pearl. Anyways will throw some more pics up during the week as will be going hard out tomorrow night with the chrome bits.
  7. The last picture above in the very corner sort of shows the light shade of pearl compared to the rest, kinda hard to make out but it's there.
  8. I've just got back from checking the final result, knowing roughy how it was looking prior to the final clear coat, pretty much was blown away with all the different colours under different lights, of which what I was seeing I could not see through the camera, I now understand when people say the pictures don't do something justice, it has deep blue tones to light blue tones with hints of purple and red and a darkish teal, it was in my eyes just gorgeous and so pleased not to go to a metallic blue like I was originally going to do. So this week there's some minor engine bay detailing and lots of chrome polishing happening, radiator to go back in and ida etc. hopefully drivable by the end of next weekend. Below are some pics but as I say you probably can't see what I saw in the flesh but gives you an idea.
  9. Thanks for the support bud, tan should look great either way, but I guess more important it's all 100% original and mint
  10. Yeah she was stuck on real good so decided to keep it, although not factory it's easy to change back but I do like it to.
  11. Yeah I gave up pleasing everyone else years ago lol
  12. Not that I'm aware of I know 2 owners of It myself.
  13. Above is all the new interior except the front seats as ones in the car and the other is in the garage. I will post some pics tomorrow of the engine bay and what it's looks like after last clear coat, then as all the chrome is put back on I'll add more pics.
  14. So now it's time for all the trim and chrome to back on, bumpers, grill, lights, etc. Once I get the car back home it's time to put the interior in which I'm really excited about as I've found most old school rotors have race seats which personally I feel is just not right, my car came with momo seats but they were the first thing out the door, but hey, everyone likes different things so either way is just an opinion. So the new interior came out of a genuine NZ Rx3 savanna coupe and even has the original radio and facia plate, steering wheel etc. I must admit I do prefer black but I think the tan will look very sweet once in.
