  1. Lol well I already been offered 3.5k and turned him down, do you still have original front seats like me?
  2. There's one in Dunedin, from what Brian told me, and another one up wellington way is owned by some guy who's in the army, And 75rx3 appears to have one also. I wonder if his car is a NZ new one.
  3. Yeah sounds like you have a genuine savanna don't it lol, there apparently only 9 came to NZ according to the mazda dealer back in the day. And the fact it's a 75 would explain the tan. A very rear car you have.
  4. So the engine is almost ready to assemble, end plates have been ported, keeping the factory 3B centre plate port stock will provide reasonable economy with the 4 barrel carby, I have decided to go for a bridgeport for the front and rear end plates. Basically I want good fuel economy but when the secondaries kick in, it will still haul arse, port size makes or breaks a fast n/a engine. So just stick to what been race proven over many years. I won't have the same power as running a ida but I've been there and done that, and I want to keep it more stock and drivable whilst shutting the bitch up on the exhaust noise side of things. Exhaust will need looking at as it's completely wrong for my engine, so down the track I'll get that sorted at a local place that's done quite a few rotors and he understands how critical they are to having a tuned system, although not so much for a secondary bridge. Hope to have some engine pics up in the next few days, hope everyone has a great long weekend!
  5. Managed to get a little more done today. Passenger front door trim is on and fitted the steering wheel but abit of finishing needed ie. Steering wheel cover and rotor emblem still to go on.
  6. Oh and apparently they had a single mirror on the drivers door which I also have got from Brian.
  7. Just spoke to Brian regarding tail lights, dash etc, the NZ new 75 savanna was basically the last of the models sold to NZ, 9 came into NZ identical to my interior, just tried to jazz them up a little, by going to the tan interior with black dash etc, keeping with the square gauges of the earlier super deluxe and also keeping the round tail light configuration, they moved the fuel pump to under the passengers rear guard like the rx2 series 1. Which I also have the original box and mounts out of it that Brian gave me. So I guess it's different from the black, but more important I guess it's even rearer, but only if you like the tan, I myself prefer black. So one day I may die it, will see how it goes . So it seems like a last ditch attempt to get rid of them into the market before oil crisis appeared. I guess at the end of the day it's what each prefer all black and black/tan. You know my thoughts
  8. Bugger don't like the one in the link lol might sleep on that one for awhile
  9. thanks you just reminded me i need the re key surround badge and the mazda badge for the boot
  10. Brian knows of someone else with a savanna coupe, but there wasn't many that came here, he thought about 9 in total, either way I guess it's a rear thing with the brown, he gave me the chassis number that was cut out of the firewall so could possibly track its history.
  11. I'd have to have a look through the interior as I take it all out, think the carpets are in pretty good shape and I'll probably have to split to get rid of everything. So anything you want I can photograph for you, there's the odd crack here and there, mainly why I brought the new interior. I have a super delux badge, I'm guessing should have a gt badge. Brian's not sure what it had. Beauty of it all I could die it all black if I really had to.
  12. Yeah I'm not entirely sure, all I know is it was brought brand new and was a 75 savanna, but interesting all the same
  13. Yep my dash isn't the same as the one in pic. Was just a pic I found with black in brown, I have the standard rx3 NZ gauges. Savanna gauges are the same as the super deluxe coupe gauges.
  14. Not sure if it had mirrors, may have, I'd have to ask Brian from Rotary Research in Christchurch who brought it new. Think only the NZ new savanna had the tan interior, and the savanna badge instead of the mazda rx3 badge, yeah I perfer the round lights lol so everyone's different I guess.
  15. Here's one similar and pretty much identical to mine
  16. Sounds really odd but it works quite well, theirs some pics on Google on the black/ brown combo
  17. No the NZ new savanna came with black on tan/brown, so dash, console, door handles and window winders were all black, all carpet, seats, sun visors are tan/brown
  18. I do appreciate the heads up Evan, cheers bud, just want it kept to the NZ new version.
  19. Hmmm, I'm not sure myself but it's so mint I have to go with it. I'll get used to it one day lol
  20. Mine are savanna tail lights, their were a total of 9 savannas that came into NZ. The NZ new ones had the round lights, Japanese imports had the dog bone style. I only know this as all my parts are of a genuine 75 rx3 savanna NZ new, I brought them off my mate who brought the car from brand new from Amuri Mazda in CHCH. He sold the car and the guy rolled it, and my mate was allowed to retrieve all the interior and exterior, before it was scraped. Had been siting in his garage for at least 25 years.
  21. So here's what I have got done today
  22. Next I'm off to the store to find some glue to install the new vinyl over the rear wheel arch, then the back seat will go in.
  23. Time to remove back seats and trims, dash out
  24. Above pics are the old interior and then time to take out
