I'm sure years ago i put a 1850 head on my gto,I'm guessing the cam would be different, and yes the dizzy out of the block motors apparently had issues.
i also put a gs gto cam in a 1850 and thought it ran better, but could have been dreaming.

been busy cleaning out all the crap in the engine bay to give it some paint, what a mess, takes such a long time to get all the grime and oil off.not fun and my gas bottle has run out.
anyone want a 4 speed manual box?
swap for a box of waikatos, looks super clean.
also motor will be going to scrappy unless someone wants to swap for beer? its a 1600 with issues.

hey guys\girls,my aisian neighbours batty was sounding sick the other day so i went over and had a look, found that the leading coil was not producing any spark (middle coil),theres 3 coil packs as you probably already know, (i don't know a lot about these engines)
he doesn't have very good pinglish and wants me to get some new coils and fit them,
my questions are;
*is this a common fault?
*who does a set of these things at a good rate?
*is putting standard ones back on ok?things fairly modified but still twins.
*are they pretty straightforward to change out? any tips or advise?
cheers max

think these were delivery vehicles? has a different back seat compared to my old sigma wagons, folds down easier, has a high stop light in the back id like to bin,has a 4 speed box that will go in the same bin,use a normal 5 speed.looks like it has a ten bolt rear diff too so thats a bonus as i didn't think they came out this early.
will look around for an earlier front end (round headlights like my other one.) no rush though.

could put this in,been slowly building it up over the past year,
vr4 block
oilling mods,balance shafts removed,new pistons,bearings etc,evo 3 head,arp head studs,new valves,
have made a top mount twin scroll turbo manifold to suit the evo 4 turbo, but can't afford 2 external wastegates right now.
looks like theres room for a windsor though
have a sohc 2L prob just put that in there for now and get it driving asap.

am after some 14" sigma wagon steelies if anyone is hoarding any.
these rims are 13"s

radiators may look sweet after a flush, but we had a truck at work that kept overheating with a 'sweet' rad (rad shop said it looked good) but our mechanic insisted it gets properly looked at,took it apart and it was blocked as fuck.

dunno if this hepls, but i usually start the car up, and cut a 10cm piece of speaker cable and put it across the big fat power cable out the back of the alternator and put it on the pin for the excitor,if she powers up then i know theres an issue,or keep the piece of cable in the glove box for everyday/temporary use.have had a few issues like this.good luck

they're sick mate but fairly difficult to find parts for,I'm sure most will agree that suspension and driveline components are easy to obtain\pillage off similar mitsis.heaps of these things were tectyl coated,I'm sure the owners of these cars probably have spares or may know of people with them.
the u.s? ones have gay front bumpers
mlracing's Hakosuka.
