Excuse the terrible photo but first gen prelude spotted outside my work, also saw a 2nd gen prelude a couple hundred metres down the same road, pretty rare thing to see!

I think this is my new favourite thread haha.
Back when i had my escort a cop pulled me over at like 1 in the morning flying down east coast road. Thought he was gunna ping me for speeding/the car being 50mm of the ground, no cert for suspension or the pinto motor sitting in it. Asked what i was up to tonight and if he could just check my license, walks around the car checking it out and comes back to the window to tell me how mint the paint is on it and how much he loves escorts, yarned to me about it for a good 5-10 minutes then goes well i'll leave you to it have a good one bud. Drove off thinking what the fuck hahaha

Both times i have owned a chevette I've had countless people tell me i have a mean 323 and "Has it got a rota in it?" (seems to be a popular question hahah).
Had many people ask if my ssr mk1s were modgies lol
Had some old fulla on the side of the road stoking on my escort while stuck in traffic in brownsbay, well until he saw me scraping over a speed bump then proceeds to yell at me saying i ruined it. like it was the same height before i went over the speed bump good sir???????????????????
In the ke70, lots of people telling me their nana used to have one
In the eb1 civic, forever having people ask me what it is then tell me im bullshitting when i say its a honda civic haha

I've been doing a bunch of work on brothers falcon the last couple weeks, its an 87 xf with the 4.1L pushrod anchor, it bent a push rod so ive had the head sent away to get it skimmed and the valves tidied up and what not. I've also bought a couple new lifters for it just to eliminate any chance of it bending more pusrods.
Now my question is, how do i check the hydraulic lifters to see if they are good or not?
The ute is question:
This is what the lifters look like:
Cheers guys, I have done a lot of googling for the answer already but everyone seems to say something different

Myself and a few friends have had good experiences buying NOS parts and other things for our cars from malaysia/thailand and they have all been in the condition described and arrived quickly. So not all of the sellers over there are bad! But its good to know who's trustworthy and who isn't !

Spotted this in takapuna, it is sooooo tidy

If you did it and your wof guy asks why your motor is now injected as opposed to carbed which is on the cert plate. just point at the itbs and tell him they are carbs and give him a chinky wink, maybe slip him a twenty

its alloy head, but even then i think its going to be a bit of a mish pulling it off, the engine and bay are both huge

ah okay thats good to know SOHC, sweet will give it a try tomorrow Sentra, if not will just take the head off and send it away to get looked at. hopefully the valve and piston haven't had happy times with each other
-
To bash the valve free do you just take the rocker arm off and tap it with a hammer? Will also try getting lifter out with a magnet. Cheers guys.
What would cause the valve to get stuck?

My brothers xf falcon started running pretty rough the other day and I came to the conclusion that it was most likely the head gasket. Got to work getting it ready to take the head of and just as I'm about to remove the head bolts i notice the exhaust side push rod for cylinder 4 is not sitting under its rocker arm, have a look around and find the intake side pushrod is fully bent and not sitting quite in its seat for the rocker arm. Does anyone know what causes this? Is it because of a stuck lifter?
Pics to help

This has probably been asked before but if you have a car certified for mods and the rego dies, when you get it re registered do you have to get cert done again or what's the story?
-
How can you get them for only price +$30 shipping? Says 120nzd for shipping on the page. If not they look very nice condition and i would play that price plus 30 for them. I have the same ones, bought them of orion. They sound nice too.

Sweet, happy they are actually being used somewhere haha

2jz is a sweet choice of motor for this. What did you do with the 4x120 centres from those ssrs?

Have pined over rotaries since I can remember and have never owned one. Really want to get one, summer is coming up and I'm bored of my 180sx so that is being put up for sale this coming week. I want something oldschool again.
Will have around 14-15k to spend, I realise that's not going to get me a rx2,3 or 4 but from what I've seen I should atleast be able to get a tidy rx7 or even a tidy 323 wagon if I can find one?
