Hey team,
I stripped my 3 piece Volk 14s and I need to get the centres sand blasted and then powder coated. Who in Wellington does the powder coating and what do you guys thing it would cost approximately to get two centres done?

I thought that this was doomed for the scrap dealer earlier in the year? Glad that didn't happen! Love that shape of corona!

I replaced my sc12 on my 4agze with a sc14 and I loved it. Awesome noise, plenty of pull and it would keep pulling until redline. I just had to modify the pipes that came off it and I was away laughing

Sweet man! good to see the suspension worked out sweet for you!! looking so dope.
Thanks mate. Appreciate you replying to my PMs and giving me a walk through. Thanks to Seedy Al also to the thread in the Tech section that made building the front coilovers a breeze!

Early birds getting the worms I see!!! I will be heading down but not that early haha

Over the weekend I got some work done on the corona. I picked up my struts and put my coilovers together. Huge drop in height from standard that's for sure and I have set them 7 threads up just to see how everything will sit.
I put them in the car and realised the camber plates will need to be re drilled....
Take into account there is no engine or gearbox etc and it is sitting at this height.
I then put her in the garage and next on the list will be to drop the rear end and see how my shortened hilux setup will fit.
I am also contemplating building some rear strut towers to run a coilover suspension setup on the rear rather then the normal shock setup. Just an idea at this stage.

Yeah thanks Al. There a few TT141 coronas being wrecked on trademe so maybe that's my best option

saw you were selling the wag and i was sad good to see you are doing something just as wild i still have my supercharged trueno if you remember me i brought some stuff off you years ago
Yeah mate I remember. Many moons ago. Only selling the yellow one as the black one is I'm much better condition and has had less molestering!

Hey team,
Keen to borrow a guard roller from someone for the weekend if at all possible. Car is based in waikanae but I live in tawa and I drive all over wellington daily with work. Will pay cash, beer, whatever someone is after.

I have a power steering rack from a SA60 carina wagon, would have thought it would be quite similar
Sounds like a good option. I will PM you to talk about things. I have no idea what the inner measurements on the LCAs are sorry sheepers. I will be stripping all the front this weekend to have a look at things further. The cross member bolts up just like most 80s style Toyota.

Hey guys and girls...
All comments, questions, queries and advice to be thrown around in here. A bit of a different build so no doubt it will come with it's complications but time will tell how it all goes.

I'm really keen to run power steering in this rather then the steering box so if anyone has suggestions then thrown them my way. I have been told to look in an 86 powersteering rack and column and go from there. Sound right?

Brought some Tanabe Subaru coilovers off trademe for $100 and started stripping them down to make my own coilovers. Remove the sleeves, springs, hats and camber plates and I will use them all on my setup. Camber plates are getting re drilled to suit my setup at the moment. I will drop the car a further 20mm by using the camber plates too as the standard top hats are really deep.
Now following seedy Als post on coilovers I stripped my standard ones and cut around the bottom spring keeper
I them brought some brand new Monroe ae92 corolla inserts that were 55mm shorter then original so the standard strut housing will be cut down to keep the new inserts captive
Tidied up the struts by grinding off the rest of the bottom spring keeper
Also brought some series 5 RX7 4pot callipers yesterday so they are on their way too so I will be looking into setting those up at some stage.

As I was looking on trademe another wagon popped up but it's a 79 (same shape) and it looked to be in much better condition then my yellow one so money was traded hands and freight organised and I got it transported from Christchurch to Wellington.
It has no engine but it was complete otherwise and it came on some 13x7hotwires with decent tyres too
I had now sold my turbo corolla so I went a bit mental buying parts...
2jzge - 82k, loom, auto gearbox, ecu -$700
Shortened hilux rear end set up for 4link
Pulled these out of CHCH two weeks ago and got tyres on them yesterday too...14x7 Volk Racing Wheels

Found a guy on trademe with a sedan shell in his lawn. He cut the front end off and sent it up to me. Cost me $150 so I definitely can't complain. Completely rust free too. Well, surface rust but that's nothing. Was thinking about sticking this front on as it hasn't been molestered at all!
Previous owner also took a hit in the front right hand side and this is how he tried to counter things...
Scored a complete interior for $40 from a guy in Paeroa that wrecked a wagon he found in the bush.

Hey everyone,
I recently joined oldschool but have been trolling here and there for the last few years. As my turbo ae100 corolla wagon was nearing completion I spyed a bright yellow 1980 corona on Hustle Live and I had to have it. I parted with some stereo equipment and $400 and I went over to Wainui to pick it up.
As soon as I got it home I started stripping it down to see what I was going to be working with. Eye moved the driveshaft as it was banging around and I took the fixed backs out that were pretty much welded to the floor
Fuel lines running through the middle of the car.... Car was built for skid and originally had a RB20det in it
Front had been hacked up to fit a huge radiator and to clear room for the intercooler piping. The passenger footwell had also been smashed up with a hammer to make room for the wastegate to clear...
Turned out they welded the bumper to the car rather then put four bolts in..
Battery tray behind passenger seat
Removed rear windows and found rust so that was repaired
Crack in bog around fuel filler... As I removed it I realiser the fuel filler and surrounding area was rusty so that was cut out
Started pulling it all back
Started to regret pulling it all back as I found previous repairs and more and more rust
All the way under the dash it was like this. Has rusted through the rain gutter.... Now what do I do!!!

Hey everyone... Now I know this is a very odd request but I want to do some mounting in my corona with my 2jz to see how much room I have and to also see if I am going to need to increase the size of the gearbox tunnel.
I will be running a r154 eventually but I don't have the $2800 to buy one brand new at the moment. If some one has one lying around (highly doubt it) or even an a dummy box I would love to borrow it. I will compensate however need be.
I'm located in tawa and the car is in waikanae. I don't mind traveling to get it.

Powder coaters in wellington?

Thanks for the heads up guys. Metal immersions isn't far from home and work so I dropped the wheel centres off there this morning. Acid dip and powder coat will be roughly $80 a centre. Not bad I thought.
