the rear drums on the axel are 310mm way to big for 13s and would rub the edge of my 14 steels so already drawn up an adapter collar from van axel to my old rear drum plates
-
Mate, I've got a steering wheel off one of these. $40? It's fairly mint
thanks but ive got 2 and they are realy the best thing off them
good work with the gold kitset rich, the red one looked proper fucked. Is it still going to be saved?
yes my mate is going to rebuld it with a 2.6 engen and gearbox , he has more time than me
Use the l200 brakes. Heaps bigger. Stopping power will be needed
i would but then my epic 13inch wheels will no longer fit i would have to go 15 inch aloys or 14inch steelies at a push

Ok so today i grabbed a L200 2.6 sport rear end and now need to find a lathe i can borrow in the Auckland area to turn down the drive flanges so i can use my standid (ish)rear breaks on them with its 10 bolt LSD, photos to come
oh also is anyone whanting to buy a highly modified 1977 civic? it needs to go as no space for all my cars, PM me for info, may do a build form for it at some point

well now came the fun part i spent 3 months rebuilding the car and fixing the small amount of rust in the shell just behind the rear wheels
great photo of red and gold next to each other
about half way though i decided i just couldn't live with square lights so i collaborated with my dad and we ended up swapping this that and the other over to get the round lights to work
also found my dad is terrified of spiders i am afraid to say one died in the rebuilding of my car when it run into a cross member and my dad got it with a can of spray zinc paint and a lighter so i now have a silver cross member hole
carpets went in with just the normal amount of effort
also retro fitted retractible seat belts into the rear
oh and painted my breack boster had to be made out of both the ones i had

so whet on the hunt for a quarter panel what i got was a bit more. i have to thank "Jif" now for selling me his 1982 celeste with rego on hold and with that i also got a 4g63 engen.
was a fun day leaving Orewa at god o clock in the morning picked Jif up from his place at about 6 and went for the long drive to the Coromandel. here i first saw the car, being sitting under a car cover for almost a year it was looking good with its matt gold paint and 13 inch wheels. however a small shock hit me when i got closer and i found it had been nearly compleatly striped and i thought it was only a shell, however i was shown to a small caravan where all the bits for the car had been stored as well as a few "extras" like a pair of chrome bumpers. we, my dad, jif and myself, spent the next 3 hours emptying the parts out of the van and loading them into our car and the celeste(why is it when you strip a car the bits don't just fit back in it lol) any way a big thank you to jif's parents for the great tea and food to keep us going. we then had one last cup of tea did the paper work and headed off back home with a celeste hooked up to the A frame.
these are some photos of when we got home:
also one epic but not so helpfull exhaust tip
oh the car was full too just fit us 3 in to it for us to get home
