Another fun day today, finally pulled the brake booster apart as i had a spare one to practice on.. well turns out the sticking brakes may have something to do with the completely shagged diaphragm. so pulled both boosters apart and built one good one. side note turns out when you squash the front right of a rover p6 3500 it makes removal of the brake booster a bit of a pain. long story short the studs are now 10mm (about half an inch if you want me to keep it English) shorter so it can be placed and removed without the need of a prybar.

these are simuler to the RS carbs but yea the NZ rs* are a pair of 35 solex or 32 webber sidedrafts
in fact i've always wondered how different these are to the honda D15 twin carbs...

I know someone who will pay good money if someone could find a original Percy Motors Honda dealer special That were fitted with webbers and cam. To make a nz new rs made to compete with the Dat 1200 nz sss.
Well i have the extractors, inlet manifold and the cam out of one of these in my garage
unfortunately 35 solex or 32 weber are not common but i know of a set in NZ.

Well I think the cut lines are set one on the tunnelto make it wider at the top and one hole on the other side to bolt in the reverse light post install( yes I have that little space)

hello,
i have done a lot of work and thinking on my LC (celeste) and i have some idears
Suspension/Steering/Brakes
- What are some realistic options for suspension in the front? Would like something that has a steering system that can bolt up would also want to know what hubs/brakes/rotors should be used with said suspension. Have heard things about ex lancer struts but considering Ill be going all out with the build I would like to know if there are any adjustable suspension options. - i've not touched x member but ive made adapters to use subaru twin pots (can use singles) and RX7 S2 rotters
- Is it possible/preferable to convert the steering system to rack and pinion instead of steering box? can this be done and What setup could be used? Is power steering an option? - looking at an narrowed Subary rack with an electric powerstering coloumn on mine
- I would like to keep the rear leaf sprung, reset leaves and blocks plus a diff that can be disc converted is what I had in mind. Any other ideas for rear suspension setups? Would also like to know what shocks could be used in the rear. - im running a BW diff out the ford falcon
Engine
- What engines are good options to fit? Would consider putting an engine from another manufacturer in but from what I've heard mitsi motors work the best.
- Engine mounting? At this point I am leaning towards a dohc 4g63t, if this were to be the case what are my options for mounting? -4g63 are easy except twin cams but not imposible
- Any information regarding engine build like injectors cams, intake, turbo, crank etc etc is much appreciated.
Gearbox
- what gearboxes are strong enough to handle a mid power build and can be mounted without chopping firewall etc? Will likely have to get it recond but would like to know what engine/gearbox combinations work well. - i'm running a mix of the 5 speed starion internals in a narrow celeste/l200 case
Driveshaft/Diff
- Im aware the driveshaft/diff would depend on my engine/gearbox but what have people used before as an upgrade? Would want to convert to discs in the rear and have it mounted with leaf spring suspension - im running a BW diff out the ford falcon disk rear
Just ask if you need any more info

Just my thoughts but could be a heater tap being stuck open thus not stopping the water flowing through the heater matrix?

Well it drove to work for the first time today... needs a new clutch as its slipping bad under acceleration.

Ok long delay but another update, firstly big thanks for all the help I managed to get a new front wing (being installed arfter lunch). Ok on to things I have done... first I found this loverly range rover discovery with an itty-bitty 3.9 in it. All other parts are available if anyone here needs them... secondly I have just rebuilt the old 4 speed as yet to find a 5 speed that will work. Also the rover 3.9 got fitted with the front dress off the p6 however I'm using the discovery pick up and sump (extra oil). Still haven't been for a test drive but sounds angry.

Ok sorry for the late reply,
firstly had a good night at the Auckland meet a couple of months ago since then had a few things come up.
A ) breaks are good until they are on gravel...
B ) once on gravel they lock the wheels and you end up in the side of a levin...
C ) levin doors are no match for a front right corner of a P6.
so yea basically just got a shipment of new panels to replace the front corner with a new light fitting as the current one is permanently attached to the wing now...
as a side note i have a new T5 box and a 3.9V8 to replace the 4 speed that may or may not have 10mm of play in the output shaft (that may explain the dodgy speedo...)
It will be ready for Nats promise...

next update, had to rebuild the calipers again grrrrr damn no longer stocked piston seals, any who rebuilt now and also ordered a kit for the front 3 pot calipers. still got my eye out for a transmition as i need to fix the release bearing anyway so may as well use it as an excuse to upgrade.
hopefully next update will be quicker than this one.

Been a couple of days but calipers are rebuilt and got some new lines too so tonight will be the fun job of refitting, bleading and testing. Fingers crossed they will adjust up this time.

well been a month since i got it back running, all i can say is it handles a lot better on super cats than cheep Chinese tires on it. still have a list of fixes and tweaks but i think its in a good place At the moment for me to work on the other 3 cars... Civic, Mitsubishi and the other one. No i'm not telling its a surprise.
